Even though it doesn’t take place inside a palace or in a kingdom, The Gentleman’s Guide is a fun 18th-century story with a kingly hero. If you like your royalty to be decadent, scandalous, and as smart as can be. Monty is on a great tour of Europe and making the most of it because he’ll inherit the family estate. He also wants to spend time with Percy, his best buddy, and crush. This LGBTQ story set all over the world was a 2017 Stonewall Honor book.

"This book was a delight to read and each character was made beautifully. The plot and the romance line were so well done it was amazing. If I could give it a million stars I would."

Meyer’s sympathetic portraits of these historical figures are great places to start for anyone who is interested in or obsessed with them.

"It is well written and gives a great deal of detail into the live of Mary, Queen of Scots. The historical detail fit in our historical fiction class."
