Unlike most other smart locks on the market, the August WiFi Smart Lock just requires you to replace the inside portion of your deadbolt. This implies that if your tenants want, they can keep their original keys. I didn't want it to show on the outside that I have a digital lock. There is no change on my front door. The change inside is minimal. I installed this lock in about 7 minutes. This lock is fantastic and reliable. Everything can be controlled from the nest app. One reviewer was incorrect, you can give guests temporary passwords. They don't get full access. This was also very easy to install if you have an existing deadbolt.

The touchscreen is fingerprint-resistant, and there are built-in loud alarm sensors. When your tenants go on vacation, they can turn on vacation mode, which disables all codes and only allows admission by key. If your tenants have smart lights, they may program them to turn on when the door is unlocked or turn off when they leave because the lock communicates with Zigbee-certified home automation systems.

I have had one of these for almost 4 years and use it with a wink hub. Got a second one for the back door. We love it and decided to get one for my parents house. When paired with wink hub we get alerts on our phone. We can also make different codes for different people and see who is going in and out.

The August Smart Lock + Connect is simple to install because it just connects to the existing deadbolt on the inside of the door — the outside door lock remains unchanged, so existing keys are still functional. Because this smart lock is Bluetooth and WiFi enabled, you can lock and open your door from anywhere, and it can even unlock automatically when you approach your smartphone. You can also give guests guest access.

I love this because it works with HomeKit on my iPhone. I hate having to go into a separate app to open your door, that would get frustrating. You can attach this to home kit and pin it to your control center to access it just by swiping down. My apartment complex (like so many) does not allow me to change the outside lock, the maintenance needs access. So this was the only solution that fit my needs.

This was installed in about 10 mins and connected with no issues. Sign into Wyze app and it will connect to Alexa and Google Home. Works great with them both and I have no issues. I bought the button pad for outside to allow family to come over, and it can be a one time code that will not work again! Or if you have a cleaning service, give them their own code.
