The best air compressor in the small air compressor category is Porter-150 Cable’s PSI 6 gallon oil-free pancake-style model. It has a pancake-style tank for optimum stability while in use. This model additionally has a water drain valve and rubber feet that have been strengthened. This unit can produce 2.6 CFM at 90 psi and has a relatively quick recovery time. Moreover, the oil-free pump requires minimal maintenance and lasts longer.

Works as expected. Best buy for the money. Sure it's loud, it's a compressor. It's portable. Sometimes I find Pancake style are not to most maneuverable, depends how much you need to move it around. It's what I wanted for my small shop and occasionally travel with if necessary.

You will be unlikely to find another large air compressor with the specifications of this one that can be plugged into any outlet. This Industrial Air type is really quiet, and even at midnight, your neighbors will never notice its operation.
