A little under 3 ounces and 7.5 inches long, this lightweight survival water purifier are great for regular carry or an emergency pack. The chemical-free filter removes 99.9999 percent of waterborne contaminants in a multi-stage filtering process. The Pre-Filter System removes bigger items like silt, dust, and other suspended contaminants from the water, rapidly lowering turbidity. 99.999999% of tiny particles are blocked. The Coconut Husk Granule Active Carbon Layer follows. This layer purifies the water by removing toxins. In addition to enhancing water flavor and lowering turbidity, the Activated Carbon Fiber Layer helps absorb chemical contaminants.

Item arrived promptly; great quality, exactly as expected. I keep it with me as an emergency precaution — one in the car and one in an emergency kit. I may be paranoid but it’s great to know it’s there if I need it! Would recommend to anyone looking for a good backup water filter. :-)

This straw, despite its tiny size, has a high flow rate and weighs just 2oz. Its straw construction makes it an excellent survival item for outdoor activities such as trekking, hiking, and hunting since it can be used as a water filter for contaminated streams, lakes, and ponds. A LifeStraw is a critical piece of survivalist equipment that should not be left out of any catastrophe kit or bugout bag. Independent testing has shown that LifeStraw kills at least 99.9999 percent of waterborne bacteria, exceeding the Environmental Protection Agency’s standards for water filtration, in contrast to several similar filters now on the market.

Works well have had no problems with it. Haven't gotten sick from any water born bugs since I started drinking water from it.

The kit also comes with a Sawyer squeeze bag that can be filled with water and used later. With a weight of just 2 ounces, this small water filter is easy to carry with you. It can be used as a straw so that you can drink directly from a source of clean water. The 16-ounce squeeze bag comes with a built-in water filter that can be added if you want. Because of this, drinking has become a lot easier. It’s also possible to drink while you’re moving. Lay the filter on top of the refilled bag and screw it in place with a screw. Suck on the straw and drink water from a bottle. The pouch’s roll-up shape makes it easy to fit into your bag when it’s not in use.

With this you can drink lake and river water without the worry of getting sick. It doesn't leave a chemical taste of any kind. It screws directly onto a standard plastic bottle. I typically use it on a 1 liter Lifewater/Smartwater type bottle.

You can use this survival gear to get drinking water quickly and easily. If you go hiking or camping or backpacking, a water filter straw is a must-have thing to have. You can buy this straw filter for only 2.65 pounds. It’s only 6.7 inches long and 1.1 inches wide. When you go outside, this survival gear takes up very little space and is very easy to put in your backpack. It can also be put in your hand, or it can hang around your neck. To use a hiking water filter, just plug it into a water source or connect it to your water bottle or hydration pack. 

These straws are perfect for many things. I would recommend to have at least 1. This is great for survivalist or doomsday prepares. It would be great for camping or in areas with bad water. Many uses and every should have 1 at all times

Adding this to my car emergency kit. It's lightweight, doesn't take up much room and is easy to use. Will allow use of any water source in an emergency.
