The Yamaha Guitalele is a ukulele for guitarists who dislike ukes. Or, to be more accurate, it’s a mini-guitar with six strings and a ukulele-sized footprint. If it seems that we are being critical of the Guitalele, we are not; it is, in fact, quite fine. It has Yamaha’s legendary build quality, a spruce top, meranti (similar to mahogany) body, and rosewood fingerboard, and it’s excellently equipped with a spruce top, meranti (similar to mahogany) body, and rosewood fingerboard.

I bought two of these for my grandchildren. Everyone who tried them (the guitar, not the grandchildren) could hardly put them down. It's just a really well-made instrument to have fun with and sounds very sweet indeed. Bearing in mind the quality of these tiny instruments, they are an absolute bargain!

Epiphone is the guitar brand of the people. Instruments that are made like a Lexus, look like a Jaguar, and play as quickly and smoothly as a Tesla. The EpiLani shares all of these values. It was built from the ground up to be thrust into the hands of beginners. It’s one of the greatest beginning ukuleles available for the money. Its all-mahogany tone punches far above its weight, fretwork is tidy, intonation is good, and it’s neatly put together.

This is an excellent little ukulele for throwing in the back of your car and driving off to see where life takes you. It seems to ooze more vintage cool and authentic heritage than almost any other brand. Its genuine nice looks are matched with an authentic tone. Mahogany is an excellent option for this design. 

A sober and classy look, a clear, fair and powerful sound, what more could you ask for? In this price range it is an incomparable ukulele. I brought him to the luthier to put a microphone inside, and voila !! Bravo Gretsch, good guitars, good batteries and now good ukuleles!

Kala is a well-known brand in the ukulele world, with a diverse product line that appeals to all skill levels, from beginner to expert. It’s unquestionably a name you can rely on to deliver instruments of high quality, even at lower price points. With its smooth finish and classic cream binding, it also looks rather sophisticated. This is a ukulele that effectively demonstrates why investing a little bit more than entry-level costs is worthwhile.

Great little ukulele for the price. Sounds good and was not that difficult to keep in tune the first few weeks of use. After the strings settle down it stays in tune pretty well.

If you want to “plugin” and boost the sound of your ukulele, the Kala KA-TE tenor ukulele is the instrument for you. This ukulele features an electrical pickup, so if you want to play your ukulele live and plug in to boost the sound, this is the ukulele for you. Soprano and concert ukuleles may be difficult to play for folks with larger fingers or larger hands. If this describes you, consider a tenor-sized ukulele like this one.

Might need better strings and the batter came dead.. but it is a good solid instrument for a beginner!

The top, back, and sides of this ukulele are made of mahogany. In addition to a concert size, the Cordoba also comes in a smaller soprano size and a larger tenor size. If you have bigger hands, the tenor will provide you with more space for your fingers between the frets.

This little instrument is well made and a bunch of fun to play. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!!

When you play notes high up the fretboard on most inexpensive ukuleles, they sound out of tune, but not this one. Also, the tuning held steady. Tuning was maintained nicely once the strings stretched and settled, with modest changes every 10 to 15 minutes of playing. In addition, the ukulele comes with a strap, case, and tuner. It’s a fantastic way to get started. The Donner concert ukulele is a sure bet.

The Donner Concert Ukelele is perfect! I have played it every day since it arrived, and have no complaints. The tuner works perfectly, there are guides for chords and finger placement, I am thrilled!

If you don’t like the idea of a plastic ukulele, the Lanikai LU-21 soprano may be a better option. This is a laminate wood ukulele with the “look” of a real one. Depending on how hard you play, you may need to adjust the strings often. This ukulele receives amazing ratings and can’t go wrong for a beginner who only wants to strum some chords, not to mention it comes in concert and tenor sizes.

I bought this as a beginner player, it has beautiful sounds, and looks great too! I'm very happy with it! Now if I can only stick to learning to play :-)

Don’t be fooled by the low price of this ukulele. People are raving about these all over the internet. They’re plastic, but they have a terrific tone and playability for the price. This is an excellent ukulele for beginners on a budget or those looking for a solid “throw-it-in-your-backpack” ukulele.

Fender doesn’t make a lot of ukuleles, but the ones they do make are all excellent instruments. Consider the Fender Montecito tenor ukulele. The Montecito features a rosewood fingerboard and a nato neck. The uke also has sealed nickel tuning machines and a no-tie sonokeling bridge for quick and simple string changes.

I love the way this looks and I’m amazed at the sound.
