The most recent addition to the Kromski collection. In every way, this is a totally contemporary wheel, yet the idea and design are unmistakably Kromski. What is not immediately apparent is the introduction of a new single drive flyer design. With this adaption of the Kromski Quick Change Flyer, there is no need to deal with a drive band when changing speeds. The whorl can be “changed” for various speeds, and to change bobbins (all Kromski bobbins fit the Fantasia), the flyer’s front is simply pulled off. The bobbins are changed in record time. The hardwood spinning wheel and flyer are both mounted on sealed bearings, resulting in an extraordinarily sensitive sensation to the touch.

The most recent iteration of the well-known Kiwi Spinning Wheel. Folding treadles are now available for simple storage and transportation. Because of its simple learning ratios, twin treadle, and low price, this is a good starting wheel. The twin treadle and ball bearings provide effortless treadling and “hands-free” starting. Treadles are hinged to allow for a natural heel-toe movement. The flexible driving cable does not need to be adjusted when you go from one ratio to another and constantly retains the proper tension. The scotch tension makes it simple to manage the drafting process. Right and left-handed spinners will like the center flyer. The wheel is simple to build with the included Allen key, and the sturdy design makes it perfect for individuals, schools, and organizations.

This was my first spinning wheel purchase, and I am absolutely thrilled with it! It was easy to assemble, and I love that it folds up for storing. A great wheel for beginners for a pretty reasonable price!

This lovely, compact, portable wheel has a broad, stable base for the twin treadle action and a bigger wheel than many upright wheels. The wheel is simple to install on the two support posts. The third post may hold a distaff if desired. The Minstrel is bigger than the Kromski Mazurka, with stronger, bolder lines and a larger base to handle the greater wheel diameter and double treadles. It is a double drive wheel, but it has a Scotch tension set-up for people who prefer a single drive experience. The Minstrel is crafted of European alder and birch and has an ancient aspect that makes it ideal for re-enactors.

The wheel has multiple treadles that are hinged to provide for a comfortable heel-toe motion. Treading on ball bearings is smooth and easy.
