The Nest Learning Thermostat is a fantastic addition to any smart home, and its multi-zone adaptability makes it ideal for anybody who needs more than one sensor. The algorithms in Nest can then predict when you’ll be home and adjust the temperature accordingly. This might save you money on your energy bills and remove the need for manual temperature control. The third-generation Nest can regulate a large number of rooms.

This is our 4th Nest thermostat. We had 3 in our house and this one was for our condo. Works great. Gives us ability to adjust temperature while we are away. And we needed something to cover up some ugly brush strokes by my thermostat. This worked out well. It's essentially just a piece of stainless steel in the shape of a circle with the appropriate holes cut out. It fit my 3rd gen nest thermostat perfectly. Adds a nice asthetic.

If simplicity is important to you, you won’t be able to find a better alternative than the Wyze Thermostat. This smart thermostat prioritizes straightforward features while maintaining much of the automatic functionality you’d expect from one. The Wyze Thermostat has a built-in motion sensor that detects when you’re at home and away and adjusts the temperature accordingly. While you may make adjustments from anywhere using the app, you can also make changes in the house using a simple dial on the device. This thermostat also allows you to program a seven-day plan, so each day mirrors your daily activities.

It was easy to install (I replaced my old thermostat which already had a "C" (common) wire, so that helped. (Wyze includes a "C" wire adapter for those without a "C" wire). From the unit itself, you can control your AC but you'll have more options using the Wyze app on your phone. I haven't tried the Alexa integration feature yet as it's not a priority for me but good to have.

The Ecobee3 Lite is a less expensive solution that is still ENERGY STAR certified, allowing you to save money on your yearly energy bills. The thermostat is Smart Sensor compliant and may be managed through the Ecobee App. In addition, Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit, and a variety of other smart home systems are compatible with the thermostat.

I installed it myself last night while my husband and kids were out of the house. Took me about an hour and half, including one call to tech support to help me hook up the c wire. Seems to be working well and efficient. Love being able to control from my phone. Next to add sensors upstairs and downstairs.

I have had one of these for several years, and just recently moved into a bigger home. I brought that one with me, and added 3 more because the new home has several zones for heating and cooling. They all work great together, and I was even able to install one of these on electric baseboard with the help of an Aube RC840T-240 relay.

Cheap and easy to install. Backlight is a major plus. Looks pretty good, much better than my old one from the 90s. No wifi, but I don't have a C wire, and who needs it anyway.
