Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
In case you don't know~
Are leather gloves better than other gloves?
Leather is a long-lasting material that has been treated to endure wear and tear as well as the elements. Thus, we can say that a pair of leather gloves or mittens will nearly always outlast a pair of synthetic gloves or mittens.
How should a ski glove fit?
A ski glove should fit firmly around your whole hand, with just enough room at the ends of your fingers to prevent your fingertips from rubbing against the glove’s end. The glove’s cuff should also be long enough to cover your full wrist.
Should gloves be tight or loose?
It’s worth mentioning that gloves should fit snugly at first, but can expand to suit the hand within reason. Unfortunately, a glove that is too large can’t be avoided! Thus, you need to make sure what size of gloves you need, you can use a tape measure to quickly determine your hand size at home.
Should ski gloves be waterproof?
Ski gloves should be waterproof since it is inevitable to come into contact with the snow when skiing. Most snowsports gloves and mittens include a waterproof, breathable membrane that keeps moisture out while allowing perspiration to escape. One thing you need to remember; windproof gloves are also waterproof gloves.
10 Reviews: Best Ski Gloves of All Time (Jun 2023)

1.Kombi
Men's Sanctum Glove
Down-Insulated Glove
The Kombi Sanctum GORE-TEX® Glove is an extremely warm, highly waterproof ski glove that will keep you warm and dry in all weather. The Sanctum is a down-insulated glove that is among the warmest on the market. A hand warmer packet can be added to a zipped heater pocket to increase the heat even further. It also has a GORE-TEX® waterproof/breathable material that is guaranteed to keep you dry. A leather palm offers superb grip and a stretch softshell outer material provides pleasant dexterity.
Bought these for my ever growing boys for our Colorado ski trip…Fingers stayed warm! Love the wrist cuff & hand warmer pocket. Just needed to get a pair of liners. Use the size guide & you can’t go wrong

2.Hestra
Vertical Cut Czone Gloves
Windproof and Waterproof Gloves
The Hestra Vertical Cut Czone Gloves protect your hands from the elements by blocking out hard snow, debris, branches, and rocks. Obstacles are deflected with shock-absorbing foam, and the windproof, waterproof design protects against the weather. You may find yourself wearing them all the time.
... Most people I know use these for more typical ski days on the West Coast. I'm typically a large in most gloves (or a medium that fits big) and the Hestra 9 is a perfect fit for me. As with all Hestras, use of the Hestra Glove Balm helps these stay waterproof and extends the life of the leather. Very durable materials, great neoprene wrist that slips underneath the jacket cuffs, and like all Hestras, they're dexterous AF.

Great gloves. Comfy and nice to look at. Good for 0 to -8 then not warm enough. If you don’t have sausage fingers you could possibly fit liners in to warm them up

The Bemberg polyester lining aids in maintaining a secure grip on the skis. For extra warmth, they also contain foam insulation and a neoprene cuff to keep out deep powder.
I use them for everyday activities but purchased them specifically for backcountry use and they have held up to everything i’ve put them through. I bought them online and used the sizing recommendations and bought a half size larger and it fit perfectly. Overall great quality feel and comfort. Very satisfied!

6.Hestra
Army Leather Heli Ski Gloves
Supple Goat Leather Grip
For dedicated skiers, a women’s version of Hestra’s classic Army Leather Heli Ski Gloves is a wise purchase. When adjusting your boots or skis, the palm is constructed of supple goat leather for excellent grip. The HESTRA Triton 3-layer polyamide fabric on the upper body is completely waterproof and breathable. The gloves include a detachable polyester lining for simple washing and drying, so they can be used year after year.
I own a couple pairs of these gloves and mitts. I had purchased the gortex lined version but the liners are not removable making it difficult to dry and now the liners are packed out making it impossible to replace without replacing the whole glove. These gloves are a replacement for those as the liners are removable. The shells last for ever.
