Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
In case you don't know...
What is scientific calculator functions?
Scientific calculators include exponents, log, natural log (ln), trig functions, and memory. These functions are vital when you're working with scientific notation or any formula with a geometry component. It also has special buttons for parentheses, trigonometric functions, exponents, inverses of trigonometric functions, and π.
What's the difference between a calculator and a scientific calculator?
A simple calculator can perform division, subtraction, division, and multiplication, while a scientific calculator can perform all of these operations, as well as trigonometry, logarithmic functions, and exponential functions.
Who uses scientific calculator?
Scientific calculators are widely used in situations where fast access to certain mathematical functions is required, particularly those that were previously looked up in mathematical tables, such as trigonometric functions and logarithms.
How does a scientific calculator work?
Scientific calculators are capable of doing very complex mathematical computations. Calculators, like all other electrical equipment, process information in binary form. The binary number system is a base-two system, which implies it only has two digits: 0 and 1.

The Casio FX-260 Scientific Calculator is an entry-level calculator with a reasonable price. It's compact, light, and simple to carry. Up to 10 digits and two exponents are shown on the big one-line display. It has 144 functions, including calculations, logarithms, exponents, and trig functions. Using the clear last entry and clear all functions, you can easily remove mistakes. When you're not using the calculator, slip on the protective cover to protect the screen and buttons.
This is a very powerful calculator. I went through Mechanical Engineering School using this calculator for everything that didn't require calculus. Small, Cheap and very powerful. I've got 5 or 6 of these around the house and in the shop. Great tool. They take a beating and being splattered with oil no problem. Lasts forever.

The Casio FX-300MS Scientific Calculator has a two-line display with up to ten digits. The calculator supports up to 18 levels of parenthesis and can execute 240 functions. To quickly fix any mistakes in your calculation entry, use the backspace key. You can also utilize the auto replay feature to double-check your previous equation. Enter fractions, compute standard deviations, calculate sine, cosine, tangent, and inverse, and many other mathematical operations using the Casio FX-300MS Scientific Calculator.
Something like this to do your algebra and fractions and more importantly for science. incredible.

The two-line display simultaneously displays both the entry and the computed results. The calculator can manage both fractions and mixed numbers, so you can input fractions exactly as they appear in the textbook without having to convert them. Have you made a mistake? To recalculate the result, use the arrow keys to navigate through the original equation. Instead, you can examine previous entries using the entry line scrolling function to search for trends among responses or just obtain solutions to previous calculations.
Simple and up to the task. Price comparable to other sellers for a new piece.

The TI Nspire CX CAS calculator is a great innovation at this pricing. It is a great calculator with one of the most elegant designs. It features a rechargeable battery that can last up to 2 weeks on a single charge under typical conditions. On the backlit display, this calculator works as an overlay, color-coding equations, points, objects, and lines. It features a screen resolution of 320 x 420 pixels and is relatively light too.
This calculator is a MUST have if you ever do any physics, advanced math, or engineering. I haven't found a calculation it can't do. Complete the square, factor, solve, quadratic equation, indefinite and definite integrals, double and single derivatives, etc... Seriously, everything else just wastes your time. Be sure to check with your teacher however, if you're taking Calc I or II they might not let you have it in tests coz it's too smart !
|DIMENSIONS||7.28 x 0.59 x 3.15 inches|
|POWER||1 Lithium Metal batteries|
This calculator is reasonably priced and offers a number of useful features. It features a multi-view display that allows it to show several calculations at once. Like other scientific calculators, it offers a textbook view. As a result, it's appropriate for most educational contexts and FE/PE engineering exams. The TI-36X Pro can solve equations with up to three variables without the need of matrix functions, as well as quadratic equations.
This is a useful calculator. I use a TI83 side-by-side with this device because it is so much easier to use when computing fractions, and multiple grouped equations. You can even insert a 'division line' to divide numbers, just as one might write them out on paper. Good buy for the cost.

The Casio FX-991EX calculator, like other Casio scientific calculators, features a standard natural textbook display. It features a high-resolution display that may be used to examine data such as spreadsheets and matrix calculations. It has about 552 functionalities. It supports school and college students, as well as experts, in addressing simple to difficult mathematical and scientific problems. It may help with plotting graphical representations, scanning codes, and other complicated tasks.
This calculator is easy to use. I use it for Trig and Calculus during tests where graphing calculators are not allowed. It is easy to shift between output, either in estimated decimal form, or precise forms that give the answer as, for example, a factor of pi or a factor of a square root, or in fraction form. I really appreciated the value.

In the engineering category, Helect H1002 is an interesting option. It's one of them you'll want to check out more due of its simple look and performance. With a strong plastic casing, this model shows to be dependable for a variety of applications since it is durable and will not break apart if it falls off your desk. If you're simply building a basis for future courses, you'll appreciate that it can handle issues with one or two variables, so you didn't go looking for a more complex model.
This is a perfectly good low end calculator. It has all the functions one needs to get through high school and probably well into college. It does trig, log and so on. It has a two line LCD, lots of buttons and everything else one might expect. Yes, you can pay more and get something fancier, but I've been quite satisfied.
