For the price, this is my best waterproof cold weather hooded jacket ever. With two chest pockets for glasses case and cell phone, plus lined hood and jacket pockets, perfect garmet for early morning winter walks here on the west coast (30's to 40's). I layer with a Bean chamois shirt. I like the extra lengths to keep my neck and lower body warmer. I don't have to worry about getting cold in the rain. I particularly like the inside right pocket to hold my gloves. I still love my regular primaloft hoodie and very old wool-lined barn coat (made in Maine) for a warmer mornings. This jacket now works the best for me for the coldest walks with my Lab.

This coat has a flattering fit and looks great both as a raincoat and coat for chilly weather. In the rain, the water beads up on the coat so the coat does not feel wet. It is perfect for my frequent travels to many different climates.

Are you very diligent about exercising? And you plan to do it around the Scottish mainland? This jacket will certainly be very helpful to keep your body from feeling cold. You will be happy with the materials used, because you will still be able to move as you like without feeling limited by this jacket.

Great shell....took it on a 3 week trek with several long days of rain and it kept me dry. Liked the feature to run headphones through the chest pocket to the inside keeping them under the jacket. The fit was great for me got a L and I'm 6' 190lbs. It layered well over a wool base layer.
