The California Air Tools CAT-1P1060S is the quietest air compressor on budget. The surprisingly strong 0.6 HP motor runs at just 1680 RPM and is a single-piston pump with a life cycle of at least 3000 hours before showing signs of wear. Far outperforming the bulk of compressors in the same class, which can only provide 250 hours of run time. The oil-free engine generates just 56 dB of noise and is so quiet that you won’t even notice it’s on.

Best compressor ever. Ridiculously quiet. Plenty of air for finish work, cabinets,crown. Probably not going to roof a house with it though. Review by Cabinetmaker with 30 years experience.

Quiet, efficient and great for projects around the house. We used this to operate a Bostitch roofing nailer on our small barn and machine shed. It easily supplied a constant air flow for our project. Next project is a shed roof, looking forward to using this again!

Real loud at first. It quieted down after running and using it for a while. If you get it and you think it is too loud, make sure you run it for a while. Mine is very quiet now and has no air leakage. Great compressor.

Super quiet. You can have a quiet conversation standing next to this while it's running. Great for a Brad nailer. Probably not enough capacity for anything larger. Works great for it's intended purpose.

Its cast aluminum two-cylinder pump is driven by a drawing motor that spins at 1700 RPM and draws a low amperage to allow for easier cold starting. It’s also extremely silent at only 60 dB. It’s lightweight and small enough to readily transport to and from the worksite, and the integrated roll cage protects critical components from harm.

This compressor is QUIET! I bought it for use with trim and pin nailers in my workshop. It supplies more than enough air to power up those small nail guns AND, did I mention how QUIET this compressor is? No more rattled nerves from a former contractor's compressor which was so loud, it was upsetting to everyone in my family when turned on!

Loved this thing. After 9 years, fair amount of exposure to weather, and using it only in the summer, it was still going like a champ, but got stolen out of our shed this week. Buying another. Fairly quiet, for what it does. Cycles off well during intermittent use (holds the pressure reasonably).

If you’re shopping for the quietest professional-grade air compressor in its class, go no further than the EA-6500. Most air compressor manufacturers would not disclose their decibel ratings because of how noisy the devices are, however Eagle rates this unit at 53 dB, which is lower than a normal conversation. This 2-HP air compressor has a 50% duty cycle and can easily power small tools.
