Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

In case you don't know ~

What is the best time to eat a protein bar?

A protein bar can be eaten at any time of day, but they’re particularly useful when you’re on the run and need a protein and energy boost. They’re a wonderful snack that can help you get through till your next meal. When you don’t have access to a healthy, well-balanced meal, protein bars may be used as a meal replacement; however, consider your particular energy and nutrition requirements, since you may need to pair the bar with something to ensure you get enough.

Can I eat a protein bar for every meal?

They’re a great meal replacement since they offer significant quantities of the three essential nutrients: carbohydrates, fat, and proteins. These essential nutrients are important, and it is critical to include them in each and every meal.

Can you lose weight just eating protein bars?

Since you are regulating the quantity of calories taken, eating a protein bar for a meal may be an efficient strategy to lose weight. Bars are simple to carry. On the downside, bars are often pricey, and some people may not like the flavor.

A sedentary adult should ingest 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight, or 0.36 grams each pound, according to the Dietary Reference Intake report for macronutrients. That implies a sedentary male should consume 56 grams of protein per day, while a sedentary woman should consume 46 grams.

Our opinion:

Quest Protein bars are popular among non-diabetics, but they may also be beneficial for diabetics who exercise often and need more protein than other bars provide. These bars are widely available in supermarkets, chain shops, and health food stores. While they aren’t the healthiest option when it comes to whole foods, the mix of affordability, high protein, and low sugar is hard to top. They may also be used as an alternative to energy bars.

Promising review:

My husband has to curb his eating habits, he is a chocoholic. So we bought these bars for home to snack on. He says they taste good and curb his appetite. Nothing will replace the chocolate but he is giving it a try.

Delectable-Looking Bars

Our opinion:

These delectable-looking bars may have caught your eye at the supermarket, and if you haven’t tried them yet, you should. KIND bars are the closest thing you can come to a full-fledged food bar. Low processing is crucial to this brand, as seen by their motto “Ingredients You Can See and Pronounce.” As you may have observed, Strong & KIND’s flavors are entirely savory, as opposed to usual sugary bars. There are many reasons why this distinction is useful to diabetics. For starters, it gives your taste buds a break from the usual sugary protein or snack bars. Second, many individuals prefer sugar cravings to other types of cravings, and satisfying these sweet tooth desires on a regular basis does not help.

Promising review:

This bar is delicious, healthy and you can take to any place: use as lunch or snack or even as healthy desert.

Fiber One, on the other hand, now offers Fiber One Protein bars. These may be purchased anywhere traditional Fiber One bars are sold, and they’re a good alternative for diabetics who need a bit extra protein.

Our opinion:

A sugar substitute is used to sweeten these bars. Soy is the source of protein. Soy is an excellent choice for people who want to enhance their bone health while also reducing their risk of heart disease. This soy protein comes in at a whopping 16 grams. These Smarte Carb Bars have 7 grams of fiber. Each one of them has 150 calories in total.

Promising review:

Wow these are good! Easy to grab on the go, no sugar, 2 net carbs... just a tad more fat and these would be perfect for Keto. I look forward to one daily! Hardly no aftertaste, soft flexible bar that crunches on top and chocolate on the bottom. I’m so tired of meat and eggs... sometimes you need something like this to fool your brain into a “treat”. Will keep buying these on subscribe and save.

Sugar-Free Bar

Our opinion:

Extend Bars make another appearance on the list, this time in a chocolate/peanut butter flavor. These sugar-free snacks are packed with creamy peanut butter and whole peanuts. They provide the same fundamental advantages as the other nutrition bars on the list from this company. They are excellent for minimizing blood sugar fluctuations and allowing you to feel fuller for extended periods of time.

Promising review:

These are an excellent product. You don't need to be a person with diabetes or changing blood sugar to appreciate these. I've been eating lower calorie meals for several months and I get low blood sugar mid-morning or mid-afternoon because I don't eat very big meals even though I have no disease. These totally keep me from feeling shaky or weak or tired from eating small. Highly recommend

Diabetes-Friendly Chocolate Bar

Our opinion:

For the chocolate lovers out there, here’s a terrific, diabetes-friendly protein bar. These offer many of the same advantages as the Extend bar’s yogurt and lemon variant, such as being sugar-free and kosher. The best part is that they keep hunger at bay for 6 to 9 hours. The chewy, chocolate flavor of these bars turns eating them into a pleasure rather than work.

Promising review:

Finally, a flavor other than the typical chocolate or peanut butter. I have seen these in the most popular flavors but my grandfather is not a fan of either of those flavors so I was super excited and happy when i saw there was a new and different flavor! I had to buy these for my grandfather! Just as I expected, he LOVED them so much! He asked for more! So now I finally have something I can actually give my grandpa that he loves and enjoys while also helping him.

Our opinion:

Consider Extend Nutrition’s sugar-free bars if you’re looking for a sugar-free solution. They’re not only sugar-free and gluten-free, but they’re also kosher. They are also good for your heart. These bars may help you maintain blood sugar management for up to 6 hours. It has the ability to avoid both highs and lows. They can even help you avoid hyperglycemia while you sleep. These bars may be used as a quick breakfast, snack, or dessert.

Promising review:

I can't say enough good things about this product. I'm hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) and as these bars promise, they do prevent my sugar from crashing as much. I'm eating sensible meals as recommended by my Endocrinologist and supplement it these protein bars for snacks. I can only attest to what has worked for me. Everyone is different. They are tasty too. Especially with coffee! Yummo!!!

Diabetic-Friendly Energy Snack

Our opinion:

This diabetic-friendly energy snack is ideal for both youngsters and athletes. It ensures complete protein absorption. High-quality whey hydrolysates are used to achieve this. There are 14 grams of protein in each bar. This tasty bar is available in six distinct varieties. These protein “bars” are really wafer cookies, despite their name. These creme-filled cookies are low in sugar and rich in protein. As a result, they’re a terrific method to get more protein into your child’s diet.

Promising review:

Seriously, these bars are like a party in my mouth. They are tasty and satisfy my sweet tooth without being too sweet. One bar keeps me full for hours (with most bars I am hungry an hour later).. I love this flavor but wish it was sweetened with stevia instead of sucralose. Some of the other flavors have stevia instead and I will likely be buying those flavors more because of it.

Our opinion:

BSN Protein Crisp Bars are high-protein, low-carb protein bars that deliver a punch while being healthy and tasty. Each of these snack bars has around 3 grams of sugar, which is manageable and healthful for many diabetics.

Promising review:

I've tried lots of protein bars. Quest bars I've found to be very popular, and compared to other bars, quite good. These however, are way better tasting than those. These actually taste good and not synthetic and fake. The only downside is that it does contain SOME soy protein. These really do taste good. I often see people reviewing horrible tasting products as tasting like candy. These taste like rice crispy bars.
