The headline here is that the third-generation Echo Dot with a Clock sounds significantly better than the second-generation Dot (without a clock). The changes between it and the third-generation Echo Dot (which also lacks a clock) aren’t significant, and they’re certainly not comparable to those between prior versions, but they’re visible. The Echo Dot with Clock, without a doubt, is better capable of keeping time and providing greater rhythmic thrust than earlier versions. It’s almost as though the digital clock had a positive influence on the music.

To put the Google Nest Hub’s 7in (1024 x 600) touchscreen in perspective, it’s only slightly larger than the 6.7in display found on the largest iPhone 12 Pro Max when measured diagonally, and there’s no camera for selfies, video chats, or security. Amazon’s Echo Show 10 (above), a similar smart-speaker-with-screen design, costs about three times as much and is larger, beefier, and has a camera. However, depending on your goals, the Google Nest Hub is a worthwhile proposition owing to Disney Plus, Sleep Sensing technology, and good (if not spectacular) acoustics.

"I love this I have the google nest speaker before upgrading and I lived that. This is amazing I can use it as a touchscreen for Spotify And all my streaming services. As well I can google cast any video from one of the approved platforms onto my nest to make it easy to view! I didn’t think this would be such a big upgrade but I highly recommend!"
