The alarm is activated by motion in the water, which triggers an onboard and remote receiver alert within 50 feet of the sensor. Swim mode silences the alarm when it’s time to swim. After 10 minutes, the pool alarm automatically reactivates. The lifebuoy alarm app connects to the alarm through Bluetooth and can modify basic variables like sensitivity and siren duration.

The gate is the weakest link in any pool area. This Poolguard alarm may be mounted on any gate, door, or screen, both inside and out. Except for the short period when the pass-through button is used, the alarm enables continuous monitoring. If the gate is mistakenly left open for 7 seconds, the alarm plays an 85-decibel siren. The delay provides adults time to hit the pass-through switch, preventing the alarm from sounding as soon as the door is opened.

The alarm is loud, and I can hear it throughout my entire house, even when in the shower. We also got a sliding door lock as a backup safety precaution so our children can't open the door with it's in lock mode....

Easy to install, works as described. VERY loud noise both at pool and in house to alert to pool entry. We brought this on vacation with us because the penthouse we rented had a private pool. It alerted us to entry by our 2 yr old when she “escaped” the house. One I’ve saved is worth the price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This alarm is meant to detect anything smaller than a 1-year-old kid, including tiny to medium-sized pets. It has a remote receiver with a 200-foot range to warn adults. This alarm is tamper-proof. If not disarmed, the alarm sounds. After swimming, just replace the alarm, and the automated wake-up function turns it back on.

I actually found this to work very well. I have a kidney bean shaped inground pool. No false alarms even when running my pump or when it’s windy out.
