Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is a pen tablet used for?
A graphics tablet (also known as a digitizer, digital graphic tablet, pen tablet, or digital art board) is a computer input device that allows users to create drawings, animations, and graphics using a special pen-like stylus, similar to how they would with a pencil and paper.
Is a pen tablet worth it?
If you want to work on digital art, drawing or pen tablets bring you new boundaries in your creative career, and it’s worth trying them out. It may seem strange and unusual at first, but it’s just a question of getting accustomed to it.
Why can I draw on paper but not on a tablet?
Drawing on paper with a pen is not the same as drawing on a tablet. The tablet can be finicky, depending on which one you have; the harder you press down, the thicker the line becomes. Because there is little to no friction, what you draw may appear shaky. Not only that, but the pens that tablets use can be a little bulky and occasionally glitch. Drawing on a tablet gets lot simpler if you practice and watch a few tutorials.
Which one is faster, drawing digitally or on paper?
Digital drawing is faster – Speaking of speed, digital drawing allows you to work much faster than you would if you were drawing on paper. What would take several hours on paper will take you half the time or less on a tablet if you know what you’re doing.

HUION
Inspiroy H430P OSU Graphic Drawing Tablet
Suitable for Playing OSU
The H430p is a well-made tiny machine that can do everything a Photoshop editor needs. It offers a modest but functional drawing area, a pricey but surprisingly sensitive pen, and four programmable shortcut buttons to help you get things done faster. This tablet is also perfect for playing OSU games, since it has a fast response rate of 233pps, which aids in game winning. Plus, with the branded battery-free pen, you won’t have to worry about the pen dying while playing OSU.
Nice tablet. I teach graphic design and use the brand name tablets in my classroom. I wanted to try out the Huion one for comparison. I was very pleased at how many features are available in this model. I am not saying you'll use it like a pro out of the box. It takes a while to train yourself to make use of it as designed but that would be the same with any tablet. For the features, size and quality, you are getting a real nice drawing tablet with the Huion Inspiroy.

Wacom
DTK1660K0A Cintiq 16
Excellent Lightroom Tablet
The Cintiq 16 is an entry-level tablet that is intended to entice picture editors who have not previously invested in a tablet. In terms of value, the Wacom Cintiq 16 is an excellent entry-level purchase that is ideal for Lightroom workflows. A pleasure to work on, its Full HD LCD display allows you to work directly on the area of the image you are looking at – and this works well in conjunction with the Pro Pen 2 stylus that is included.
Finally, screen tablet that is accurate, sensitive, not plagued with bugs, and reasonably priced! I wont leave a long review because others have got that covered. Suffice to say the things I needed in a tablet (for industrial design sketching/rendering) are all here to such a great degree that I really enjoy using it. Pressure sensitivity is good, just as importantly 'initial activation pressure' is very light. This is essential for me because I do light underlays for most of my sketches.

Artist15.6 PRO 15.6 Inch IPS Drawing Monitor
All Around Pen Tablet
The XP-Pen Artist 15.6 pen display is a superb “cover-all-bases” tablet that provides you everything you need to start editing your photographs at a low price. The XP-Pen Artist 15.6 excels in picture tweaks and editing. The ultra-sensitive stylus has 8,192 levels of sensitivity, and the tablet’s ultra-portable design makes it easy to pack up and take anywhere for on-the-go editing. XP-tablet Pen’s is hard to top when it comes to a great price-to-feature ratio.
Bought this to replace a more entry level drawing tablet that my daughter previously had. At first it was kind of weird for her to be able to see what she is drawing on the screen she is drawing on, as the previous one only used the computer screen to display. She has now told me that she never wants to go back to the other style, beyond happy with this product and the fact it basically works as a 2nd monitor for her computer is really pretty awesome. Overall would highly recommend this for anyone who is or has a kid that is wanting to pursue art. Great product, very happy.

Wacom
CTL4100 Intuos Graphics Drawing Tablet
Battery-free Pen Tablet
When it comes to photo editing, it’s a great replacement for your keyboard and mouse because it’s battery-free. The Wacom has a pressure-sensitive function that lets you draw various lines based on how much pressure you put on it. The bundle includes, among other things, free online instructions on how to use the gadget as well as an art rage lite sketching app. It works on both Mac and Windows computers. And a USB cable may be used to connect to either.
I’m completely new with drawing tablets but I was able to adapt drawing with it right away. It does take awhile to set up but once you do it’s worth it. If you’re new to tablets and don’t know which one to get I definitely recommend this one. It’s small and affordable especially with the drawing programs it comes with it’s a great way to start. And drawing becomes easier the more you use it.

This is such a powerful tool. You can feel the effectiveness of the 8,000+ points of pressure sensitivity. It feels like drawing with an actual brush, pencil, etc. It's amazing. I love the amount of detail that you can get with digital painting/illustration. Here's my first go at it.

This has been my first experience using a drawing monitor, and so far I'm loving this tablet. it's the perfect size, was easy to set up and works wonderfully. The settings are stream lined and easy to use, and the pen is slim and comfortable. The drawing glove and extra pen as very handy as well, as you can charge one pen while using the other and they both seem to hold a lot of charge anyway. It also comes with plenty of extra pen nibs.
