Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is a pen tablet used for?

A graphics tablet (also known as a digitizer, digital graphic tablet, pen tablet, or digital art board) is a computer input device that allows users to create drawings, animations, and graphics using a special pen-like stylus, similar to how they would with a pencil and paper.

Which one is faster, drawing digitally or on paper?

Digital drawing is faster – Speaking of speed, digital drawing allows you to work much faster than you would if you were drawing on paper. What would take several hours on paper will take you half the time or less on a tablet if you know what you’re doing.

Why can I draw on paper but not on a tablet?

Drawing on paper with a pen is not the same as drawing on a tablet. The tablet can be finicky, depending on which one you have; the harder you press down, the thicker the line becomes. Because there is little to no friction, what you draw may appear shaky. Not only that, but the pens that tablets use can be a little bulky and occasionally glitch. Drawing on a tablet gets lot simpler if you practice and watch a few tutorials.

Is a pen tablet worth it?

If you want to work on digital art, drawing or pen tablets bring you new boundaries in your creative career, and it’s worth trying them out. It may seem strange and unusual at first, but it’s just a question of getting accustomed to it.

Our opinion:

Wacom creates high-end graphics tablets that allow users to work on drawing projects on their Mac for extended periods of time. Thanks to the Bluetooth connection, we can manage the tablet with more accuracy across a larger geographical region. At any point, you may utilize multi-touch gestures on the screen to move about the screen in the same way you would on a smartphone. There are many styles and sizes to pick from (large, medium, and tiny).

Promising review:

This is such a powerful tool. You can feel the effectiveness of the 8,000+ points of pressure sensitivity. It feels like drawing with an actual brush, pencil, etc. It's amazing. I love the amount of detail that you can get with digital painting/illustration. Here's my first go at it.

Our opinion:

Whether you’re not sure if you’ll use an image editing tablet often enough to justify the cost, the H950P offers all of the functions of a graphic tablet at a reasonable price. The pen is delicate enough to give you a genuine feeling of the creative possibilities that such tablets may provide, even if the picture editing space is modest. This is an excellent choice for novices. If you get along well with this gadget, you may safely upgrade to a more professional picture editing tablet.

Promising review:

When it first arrived I started using it. The ease of the whole process what as smooth as silk. From driver install to configuring the shortcut keys on the left side, was a breeze. It is just the right size for dipping ones fingertips in the pool of digital art. It is a very capable device for the price. I haven't encountered any problems using it, since August 6 2018. I have used drawing applications, design applications, CAD applications, and have used it as a mouse, for fun.

Intuos Wireless Graphics Drawing Tablet

Smooth Work Surface Tablet

price from
$49.95
Our opinion:

For individuals who prefer picture editing, the Wacom Intuos wireless tablet is a good option. You won’t find a better tablet if your budget is tight but you prefer the Wacom brand. After using this picture editing tablet for a while, you’ll undoubtedly realize that it resembles more costly photo editing tablets with a smooth work surface. The Intuos is ideal for folks who don’t care about portability since it doesn’t have a screen. For picture editors who prefer big computer displays to tiny tablet screens, this tablet is ideal.

Promising review:

Long story short, I have no idea how I was editing in Lightroom and Photoshop just using a mouse. This might be the "entry level," aka the cheapest, Wacom tablet in the market, but it does the trick. The size is perfect if you plan to use it for just a few hours per day and it is really portable, I love it. The only reason why I would buy the PRO (ASIN B00EN27ULS) instead is the extra function buttons, and they are handy if you want to use the tablet and ditch the keyboard (and keyboard shortcuts). Also, even though is the cheapest one available it is really sensitive and well built.

Deco 03 Wireless Graphics Drawing Tablet

Robust Designer Tablet

price from
$99.99
Our opinion:

This picture editing and color grading tablet might become a must-have for aspiring designers. The editing area is somewhat larger than that of earlier models, but not as huge as that of more costly tablets. The layout is quite practical, with six buttons on the tablet’s left side, as well as a roller for easy zooming and brush size changes. Only digital artists will find the roller useful. The keyboard will be more beneficial to professionals.

Promising review:

I was a bit skeptical about buying this tablet because I use a wacom before this but however when I got the tablet this tablet is outstanding even by design and by its performance. The pressure sensitivity works perfectly and there was no lag whatsoever with the wireless receiver it was as if using with the wire itself.

CR Artist15.6 Pro

Sleek Design Tablet

Our opinion:

The XP-Pen Artist 15.6 is a display-enabled drawing tablet. Because its screen does not replicate paper, it will not provide flawless tactile sensations, but it will let you to view whatever you draw immediately under your palm because it has a display. This is not a stand-alone computer, but rather a tablet screen replica of your display. Choose the finest laptop for Photoshop or the best computer for picture editing if you want to work quicker in Photoshop.

Promising review:

I'm a beginner artist. This is my first tablet, and it's been very easy to set up and use on PC. The drawing is very responsive and doesn't lag. The pressure sensitivity is great. The tablet feels well-built, and I find that the included stand works well for me, as I paint at a desk. The pen itself weighs about as much as a standard pencil so my hand doesn't get tired.

7.
Wacom
Cintiq 22 Drawing Tablet

Drawing Tablet for Professional

price from
$1,199.95
Our opinion:

The Wacom Cintiq 22 is a graphic tablet designed for professional digital artists, designers, architects, and video editors that need a broad variety of capabilities and a first-class matrix that covers the whole sRGB color spectrum. This is a big Full HD monitor with a 21.5-inch screen. It’s made of H-IPS technology, which makes it the greatest tablet for viewing photos since it can show over 16.7 million colors and hues and covers 72 percent of the NTSC range. The panel’s reaction time is 14 milliseconds. Even for extremely quick work with a pen on the display surface, this is plenty (hatching, etc.). You have a lot of options for setting up and calibrating this editing tablet. The Express Keys panel lets you specify a value or a combination of keys for all of the tablet’s mechanical buttons.

Promising review:

Finally, screen tablet that is accurate, sensitive, not plagued with bugs, and reasonably priced! I wont leave a long review because others have got that covered. Suffice to say the things I needed in a tablet (for industrial design sketching/rendering) are all here to such a great degree that I really enjoy using it. Pressure sensitivity is good, just as importantly 'initial activation pressure' is very light. This is essential for me because I do light underlays for most of my sketches.

HUION
KAMVAS 20

User-friendly Tablet

price from
$313.65
Our opinion:

The Huion KAMVAS 20 is an excellent low-cost alternative to a high-end tablet with Full HD display. Manga Studio, Photoshop, Lightroom, Clip Studio, and the finest computers for graphic design are all completely compatible with this graphic tablet. Another feature that makes the Huion a user-friendly tablet is the inbuilt adjustable stand. It can accommodate fixation angles ranging from 20 to 80 degrees. The Huion stylus, like the Pro Pen 2 type that comes with the Cintiq package, is battery-free. In general, the 19.5-inch screen size and wide availability make it one of the greatest picture editing tablets for the money.

Promising review:

This is my first time getting a pen display after a few years of using tablets, and I gotta say I’m loving it so far. It is definitely a lot easier to draw on, and although I’m not new to digital art, I’d say this product would be great for beginners. First off, it’s huge, and nearly as big as my actual monitor. ~19 inches of space is more than enough to draw on, and I’m glad I didn’t go smaller. The pen is beautiful and fits in my hand perfectly. I would recommend using/buying a glove, as the screen can get dirty.

Promising review:

This tablet is very fast. It will download an app or a book in my library in just a couple of seconds. The picture is fine (all displays these days are pretty good) and the audio is great ( I have the case for the tablet which deflects the speaker output towards you which sounds really cool) . Moving the tablet side to side can make you dizzy.
