Even though it’s called a wading sock, that doesn’t mean you can’t use it to protect your feet while hiking—you absolutely can! Well, made of 90% neoprene and 10% polyester, you can imagine how effective this sock is at protecting your feet from getting wet as well as sand, rocks, and even gravel that you may encounter on your trek. Wash after each use with a mild detergent and air dry in the shade only, then let this pair of socks be your best hiking companion.

I bought two pair. Cool in summer and warm in winter. Wash great.

Helped a lot for hiking in the Narrows in Zion in cooler water. Little to no chafing! For size reference, I usually wear a size 12 or 11.5 shoe and I bought the large and it was perfect.

I used these to hike a vary cold river in Utah (Zion Narrows) during the month of October. They work great and the thickness was perfect! There were some in our group that had thinner ones and they had complaints. The straps are nice to have as well. We used wet suits as well for half the trip and the worked flawless with and without the suit. If your looking for something along these lines then don't think twice, they work great. I see getting plenty me use out of mine.
