Starting with Cedarwood essential oils, which have a pleasant scent for humans but aren’t so pleasant for mosquitoes. It’s antiseptic, insecticidal, and antispasmodic. You can use cedarwood in a combination with other oils to repel pests and treat bites with a carrier oil.

I use lemongrass to make my own bug repellent! I used a 2 oz. spray bottle filled with water, used 20 drops of lemongrass, 20 of peppermint and 20 of eucalyptus essential oils. Shake it up and spray on your shoes and clothing! Reapply when necessary! I use it mainly for ticks, black flies and mosquitoes! Works well for me!

And, this Handcraft also bottles its eucalyptus essential oil in amber glass to keep it safe from the sun. Oh, a glass dropper is included.

I mostly use mint essential oil as an ingredient to home-made solution to help deter unwanted bugs and pests. i have bought various brands over the years, this one is the best of all my recent purchases. The mint scent is very strong, and very pleasing. Will buy again.

I love this brand. Very affordable, tends to last a long time, and the dropper already comes assembled. I know that’s weird to point out, but there’s another cheaper brand out there that has an unassembled dropper, and you just can’t get the plastic out of the cap to put it all together. The quality isn’t terrible. It’s not the richest nor strongest but for the price it’s actually a good quality.

It should be used as a spray or dispersed in a room to keep mosquitoes at bay.

Tea tree oil is a versatile essential oil that may also be used as an insect repellent. Tea tree oil is derived from Melaleuca leaves, an Australian native plant. Since this essential oil is good against other insects like bees and head lice, it stands to reason that it would also help repel mosquitoes.

Love this tea tree essential oil and think it is one of the best on iHerb. The aroma is so unique - mix of herbal and citrus notes.

Catnip isn’t just for cats; the oil has been demonstrated to be especially efficient against mosquitoes, outperforming DEET in a spatial test (which means that the catnip oil kept mosquitoes further away from the subject). The main ingredient in the oil, nepetalactone, is also the one that gives the catnip plant its color.
