The Glacier Air Cooler costs around $85 and comes with an extra battery that can be simply refilled and taken anywhere the user wishes to go. It is both a lantern and an air cooler, making it ideal for lengthy treks when camping or just resting on the beach. Furthermore, the unit’s speed is all that is required to produce the incredibly frigid temperatures that it promises. Though the aesthetics of this design are a touch more traditional, it may still work well with a variety of interior types.

The 10,000 BTU ASHRAE (6,000 BTU DOE) Black+Decker BPACT10WT is ideal for small rooms up to 250 square feet. It may function as an air conditioner, a fan, or a dehumidifier. More significantly, its bucket-less design, which evaporates condensation from the air conditioner without the need to pour water, simplifies maintenance. The only thing you really need to do is clean the filter around twice a month.

This air conditioner works great. My husband’s office is on the 3rd floor of our home and always hot. This unit keeps it cool, and I don’t have to freeze to death, or spend a fortune, by lowering the central a/c. We bought a kit that makes the hose fit in our sliding glass door.

As a 50 year old woman I was happy about how light the unit was and the ease of installation that I was able to do it myself. This one was a bit louder than the old one I was replacing but I like the noise, helps me sleep.

The somewhat bigger Whynter ARC-14S is included elsewhere on this list; this AC device has greater power and can fit larger areas. The 12,000 BTU ASHRAE (7,000 BTU DOE) cooling engine can handle rooms up to 400 square feet and operates in three modes: cooling, fan-only, and dehumidifier-only.

I've been using it for awhile now it works great does leak though haven't figured out why but other than that it's holding up well

Do you need to chill a huge area? The Whynter ARC-14S Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner is towards the top of the portable air conditioner price range. That so, you should probably be certain you need this much air conditioning before investing in the ARC-14S; it isn’t cheap, weighs a hefty 80 pounds, and lacks handles, making it difficult to move on anything except smooth level surfaces (where the casters can help out). It also does not seem to be a standard air conditioner.

This AC is easy to install and move among different rooms. It can cool down the room quickly. Electric bill is about the same comparing with other AC I have used. As long as there is a window in a room, the AC works. No need to worry about installation comparing with window AC.

We’ve tried all kinds of portable brands to find one that won’t wake us when the compressor kicks in. This one does the job. Still loud white noise but fine to sleep through. Cools just fine.

I had a similar 12000 btu, and I pulled it out and put this 14000 in place. It was so much better I have to keep turning it down. It's getting so cold in place
