The Warm Audio WA-47 is a great Jazz voice mic. It has a strong and conventional voice that is sought. The device has a large-diaphragm tube condenser mic modeled after the U 47. In addition to 9 polar designs, the WA-47 has a well-adjusted vacuum tube integrated circuit modifier. With 9 polar patterns, it’s a versatile recording tool. With top-notch mechanics, you get top-notch sounds. His strong tone and gentle warmness are due to the 20-kHz frequency response range.

I have two mics by Warm. This one I found to be very husky and dark for my voice and really anything else I put thru it. My suggestion and solve, replace the tube that came with it with a vintage tube like a telefunken. That changed the game and after spending a little time and research on other tubes, I landed a vintage telefunken and it became a favorite mic.

The Shure SM7B microphone is designed for vocals, but it also works for singing. It’s the mic Michael Jackson used to record his biggest hit, Thriller. It’s as tough as other Shure microphones. It’s meant for studio usage, but it also works for live jazz performances. It has flexible voice use and apps. The mic’s double-tone makes it very flexible.

The Shure SM7B is a fantastic microphone. When setup properly this thing produces crisp, clean, professional audio with the lowest of noise floors; even in less than ideal conditions. I have no window treatments in my room, a computer, and a 5 disk array whirring in the background and this thing can cut them out and provide me with a signal so good I don't have to post process it. No joke.

The Rode NT2 A is a large capsule condenser microphone. It is adaptable due to its high-quality design and elegance. It comes with a framework with adjustable compilation, higher pass filtering, and pad selector. It has three switches to control the mic’s functions. One switch controls the spontaneous pattern, another a high pass filter, and the third an attenuation pad.

This is an amazing mic. Exactly as described. It is crystal clear when I record and depending on the setting, it picks up different sound, again, as described. Amateur recording artist here and having a lot of fun. If you can afford it, get this one. It’s amazing!

The Shure SM58 dynamic microphone is the workhorse of the industry. It replaced the traditional SM57 with a grille in 1966, making it suitable for live voices. Rock icons, rappers, pop artists, and metal bands are among many that rely on it to give authentic voice sound while standing up to the demands of travelling. The SM58, on the other hand, isn’t elitist—a it’s microphone for the masses. Because of its longevity and inexpensive cost, it’s just as likely to be found in a karaoke bar as it is in an opera theatre.

I bought this mic around Christmas time. Boy did I get a deal. So i got 2 and I'm happy. The sound quality of this mic is great nothing beats a Shure microphone for live shows.

The sE Electronics X1 S condenser is an excellent choice to search for if you need a very adaptable condenser. It’s affordable while yet producing high-quality voices. The sE Electronics X1 S is a handcrafted microphone of exceptional quality. A dependable cardioid design microphone is included. The mic produces equally clean and bright sounds.

This is an excellent microphone. I like everything about it. It comes in a cardboard box with formed foam, and you can put the microphone back in the box when it is not being used. It is obviously very high-quality. I use the microphone for recording acoustic guitar and vocals. If you position the microphone 4 feet away at 45°, pointed at an angle at the guitar, the sound is excellent.

Are you undecided between a dynamic and a condenser microphone? The TELEFUNKEN M80 makes it a bit simpler to decide. It has the SPL tolerance of a dynamic mic but a frequency range closer to that of a condenser. The M80’s low end goes all the way down to 30Hz, while other dynamic microphones only go down to 40Hz or 50Hz. It also has high frequency range comparable to any dynamic mic, going up to 18kHz. When you combine this with the supercardioid pattern, you get clear, airy, nuanced voices on stage—exactly what you’d expect from a condenser microphone.

some say this microphone is overpriced. I have compared this mic with the 150, 200, and 250 dollar microphones which I own. the is no way this microphone is overpriced. if you like working with the shure sm58 , you will fall in love with the m80

This mic is definitely one of my top five live performance mics that I have used over the years.
It rejects feedback very well since it has a hypercardioid pattern but you need to sing right in front of it.
The mic sounds more natural than most of your standard dynamic mics 58, 767, etc...

At first inspection, the CAD Audio CADLive 90 seems to be a perfectly good supercardioid dynamic mic. True, it’s a cheap choice with a greater frequency response than a dynamic mic. But CAD Audio has added a surprise to this mic’s specs: neodymium, a rare-earth element. Neodymium magnets are the strongest available commercially. That implies a smaller magnet has the same magnetic power.

For local band use. I've used a LOT of mics through the years, mostly Shure and AMG, and this mic works with the best of them. Clear, distinct, responsive. I can't speak to its durability, as I've only used it a few times to date, but keep hope alive! Nice secure case, too.
