A mid-side microphone arrangement on the Zoom iQ7 gives you far more freedom than on the iQ6. The button on the right allows you to choose between M-S, 120° stereo, and 90° stereo. You may also spin the microphone capsules in a variety of ways to get them in the right position for your subject or situation. This is a very good microphone. It picked up sound very well on an iPhone and an iPad. I tried connecting it to a male to female lightning cable and it worked; however, I was not able to get it to work connecting it to the same cable connected to a dual female to single male lightning adapter...........

The Rode Video Mic Me-L Lightning version of the popular VideoMic Me is now available. The 3.5mm headphone jack version is located further down the page. It contains a 3.5mm headphone connector, a directional cardioid pickup pattern, and a frequency range of 20Hz to 20kHz. This one has a windshield like the last one, which is always a plus.

As expected from Rode, this mic is amazing. Within hours of getting it I recorded a live concert band concert. The audio results were amazing. Great price. Easy to set up and use. Bravo!

A condenser microphone is used in the Zoom iQ6 X/Y, same as in the Zoom H4N Pro. It has a range of 90 degrees to 120 degrees in which the pickup may be adjusted. Using the numbered wheel that appears on the front, you can easily change the mic gain without having to go into the program. The headphone/line-out jack may be used for both recording and playback.

Exactly what the title says. The lightning connector is simply too short to make contact with the phone if you are using a phone case; making it an inconvenience to take off the case every time you want to use it.

This microphone is arguably very high quality!! Sound is amazingly clear and the app is extremely useful. The only thing I wish it had is a headphone jack for sound monitoring. Overall 5 out of 5. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

The Saramonic SmartMic is a good option if you’re on a budget. The microphone is housed in plastic, yet it can pivot and spin in almost any direction. Compared to the built-in phone mic, this one will provide a somewhat better sound, but don’t hold your breath waiting for it to be of professional quality.

I am stunned at how well this mic works for blogging! The video quality was always good, but, I could never seem to get the sound to turn out right.
This mic is fantastic... I Highly recommend it!

The Comica CVM-VS08 is a high-quality cardioid condenser shotgun mic for mobile devices. A playback headphone jack is included for monitoring, much as the Rode above. Please note that this is not real-time monitoring. The microphone may be rotated 360 degrees thanks to a detachable clip.

The build quality is great, the design is well thought out and audio quality is also very good. Of course, you can't compare to a pro level but it is much better than your standard built-in mic.
