The Minelab GPZ 7000 is completely insane. It doesn’t even utilize the standard frequency technology of the other devices; instead, it uses Zero Voltage Transmission (ZVT), which detects gold buried two to three feet below the surface. ZVT also allows the detector to detect gold in the highly mineralized ground where a conventional metal detector would screech like a banshee. It also features an easy-to-use menu system that enables you to use it with ease.

This is the best one I have tried. It can be set to produce almost no background noise and it will pick up a gram nugget at a foot deep loud and clear.

The Fisher Gold Bug Pro is intended to provide the greatest results possible while gold hunting. It only works at 19 kHz, which is ideal for gold, so this isn’t a massive drawback. Despite the fact that it is mostly focused on gold, it does offer the ability to search for all metals indiscriminately. The Gold Bug is excellent at finding nuggets deep down and is able to work in highly mineralized soil.

I have used a Gold Bug II for 15 years and this detector works just as well. Only takes one 9 volt battery as well.

The Minelab CTX 3030 is similar to the Equinox 800, but it outperforms it in every aspect. To identify and distinguish items underground, the machine uses Minelab’s FBS-2 technology and full-range multi-frequency detection (1.5 – 100 kHz). The device also comes with a low-latency wireless module and a nice set of over-the-ear headphones. The removable rechargeable battery charges in a stand. You can carry additional batteries with you and change them out in the middle of an excursion.

The machine operates at five distinct frequencies, ranging from a low 5kHz for deep coins to a high 40kHz gold detecting frequency. It can also be used in multi-frequency mode to ensure that nothing under the surface is missed. Your search can then be further refined by using the depth and sensitivity options.

Very amazing machine, I search in very difficult beaches and this machine catches the signal on very magnetic black sand. I found a coin 5 minutes after turning it on. Then I spend 2 hours convincing my wife that I didn’t planted the coin, lol. This machine can be used out of the box or fine tune for your needs. It up to you but the pre-settings are amazing.
