Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What should you look for in a pair of Boots?
Much of what you desire from a footwear, will be determined by personal choice. A casual walker, for example, will need much less energy than a seasoned rambler doing the Three Peaks Challenge. Regardless of your intentions, you’ll want to think about the following features: material, waterproofing, and breathability.
How to determine your size?
First, put on your thick socks and unlace the boots. If they’re already uncomfortable, don’t pick that. Next, extend your toes so they don’t bang against the end of your boots when you walk downward. Push toe forward, and attempt to get a finger between your heel and the boot’s rear. Close but not squishy. Finally, lace up, get up, and walk a few yards. If your boots are still comfy, you’re on to a winner.
Should i buy bigger size than mine?
There has to be ample area in your boot since your feet are prone to swell during extended hikes. If there is too much space to wiggle your finger, a smaller size is recommended. If there is too much leeway the boot will stay loose no matter how tight you tie your laces
How to break in a new boots?
Shoes require time to break in and mold to your feet. Wearing them around the home is the easiest way to achieve this. You may feel like a wally at first, washing up in your wet-weather gear, but you’ll be the one laughing halfway through a grueling climb when your feet are pain-free.

MERRELL
Moab 2 Mid Gtx Hiking Boot
Waterproof Hiking Boot
First and foremost, it is waterproof. Suede and mesh are used to create this piece. So if you’re seeking for a leather boot, this is a model to have in your consideration list. It also contains the well-known Merrell air cushion in the heel for further support and cushioning. The Moab 2 is also made entirely of recyclable materials, which is an added bonus. Both ordinary and wide widths are available from the manufacturer.
I have been using Merrell hiking books for the past 15+ years and have been generally happy with fit, finish and durability. Several pair have lasted 3 years of hard use. I buy the waterproof Gortex model since we do a lot of hiking in snow and around water. Very comfortable using heavier wool socks in winter and lighter cotton socks in warmer months.

This order was for my second pair of these boots. I bought the first pair over three years ago for hiking, and put several hundred miles on them in the roles of hiking and hunting, but found that they were so comfortable that I started wearing them daily. They are stylish enought that they fit both casual and business-cas dresscodes.

I friggen love these things. We got some snow here in Mississippi and it’s always wet muddy snow and these boots were awesome. We got 7” and my feet stayed warm and dry. They are very comfortable too. They aren’t not slip on indoor floors though, but I didn’t buy them for the indoors so harm no fowl. A+ boots. Worth $60. Size was pretty accurate too.

These are my second pair of Salomon's. I trail run in Fellraisers throughout the year. I purchased these for hiking and hunting. However, after wearing these I am also looking forward to running in them. I live in the Pacific Northwest so we get a lot of rain. During my hunts this fall, my feet stayed dry and comfortable. The traction is top notch and aggressive. The boot is lightweight and made long hikes much easier. My feet didn't feel heavy at the end of the day.
