Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What should you look for in a pair of Boots?
Much of what you desire from a footwear, will be determined by personal choice. A casual walker, for example, will need much less energy than a seasoned rambler doing the Three Peaks Challenge. Regardless of your intentions, you’ll want to think about the following features: material, waterproofing, and breathability.
How to determine your size?
First, put on your thick socks and unlace the boots. If they’re already uncomfortable, don’t pick that. Next, extend your toes so they don’t bang against the end of your boots when you walk downward. Push toe forward, and attempt to get a finger between your heel and the boot’s rear. Close but not squishy. Finally, lace up, get up, and walk a few yards. If your boots are still comfy, you’re on to a winner.
Should i buy bigger size than mine?
There has to be ample area in your boot since your feet are prone to swell during extended hikes. If there is too much space to wiggle your finger, a smaller size is recommended. If there is too much leeway the boot will stay loose no matter how tight you tie your laces
How to break in a new boots?
Shoes require time to break in and mold to your feet. Wearing them around the home is the easiest way to achieve this. You may feel like a wally at first, washing up in your wet-weather gear, but you’ll be the one laughing halfway through a grueling climb when your feet are pain-free.

KEEN Utility
Pittsburgh Steel Toe Waterproof Work Boot
Durable Protective Boot
To reduce stress caused by extended walks on rough terrain, these Keen Utility Pittsburgh work boots feature detachable metatomical EVA footbeds and compression-molded EVA and PU midsoles (one of the leading causes of plantar fasciitis). The work boots also contain waterproof breathable membranes that keep employees’ feet dry even when exposed to outside substances. The boots are made of tough nubuck leather, which is designed to withstand extreme weather conditions.
These are great boots. They fit like a hiking boot, very comfortable and pretty light unlike a lot of steel toes. I rubbed a couple coats of mink oil into them before I started wearing them and re-up it every couple weeks, and they have not leaked and kept my feet dry as well as comfortable. I like Keen boots as they are more comfortable and lighter than any other workboot I’ve tried.

Timberland PRO
Men's Rigmaster XT
Safety Toe Boot
These Timberland boots include polyurethane slip and oil-resistant outsoles for dependable grip in slick conditions. This offers the worker adequate assurance that he or she will not slip, fall, or get gravely hurt. Furthermore, ASTM-compliant safety steel toes provide assurance that nothing will endanger the worker’s toes since they operate as metal shields that totally protect such delicate body parts.
I work in a wet, slippery environment and I have never slipped, my feet are never wet, the boots have never ripped or torn, laces are still good, sole is still good, and best of all...the sole has a lip/edge around the entire boot. If you use a hand truck this is great because you can tip the hand truck using the lip of the boot instead of your toe, thus protecting the top of your foot. I've had these boots for a year now wearing them 5 days a week, 8 hrs a day. Buying another pair just to have in case.

This is my 5th pair of these boots, I Buy a new pair about every year. These pit boss timb pro's are my money makers. They are simply a rugged and comforitable long lasting bad a$$ work boot. I refuse to buy another boot. These things are the blue collar hard working mans bread and butter.

I have never owned a pair of Thorogood boots until recently. Straight out of the box they are beautifully crafted. Made with high quality leather & stitching. The only thing I changed was the shoe laces because I like the leather look, and wrapping them around the back twice.

Wolverine
Men's Overpass Composite Toe
Comfortable Protecting Shoe
When you spend a lot of money on a pair of work boots that are meant to assist with plantar fasciitis, you want them to be well-made and comfortable. PU midsoles with shock-absorbing properties and Ortholite footbeds that effectively cushion the feet and treat plantar fasciitis symptoms. Furthermore, its moisture-wicking linings are in charge of removing the moisture created by the feet, keeping them dry and odor-free.
These shoes are comfortable and quite durable. Working with pavers can put a shoe through its paces, with a lot of kneeling and standing up again, walking on rough terrain, scraping against bricks and skids, and enduring rains and mud and washings, and these boots handle it all very well. They still look good after being put through a beating. Great purchase.

Timberland PRO
Men's Mudsill Steel-Toe Shoe
Breatahble Linings Boot
Comfort elements, particularly those that provide a wave of relaxation to the feet, are highly valued by those with plantar fasciitis. Fortunately, the EVA midsoles and Open-cell PU footbeds in these Timberland Mudsill work boots cushion the feet while walking on hard terrain for the most of the workday. Furthermore, the boots have breathable mesh linings that drain moisture away from the feet and keep them cool when exposed to hot summer conditions.
I have tried many work shoes that have never lasted more than a year before they are ready to throw out. But the Timberland Pro Mudsill shoes are the best I personally have owned and worn. These are worn 5-6 days a week, 8 to 10 hours a day in a machine shop environment where there is the constant threat of spilled oil or a dropped piece of steel and they do quite well.

Danner
Bull Run Moc Toe Work Boot
Good Protection Boot
These Danne Bull Run work boots have a lot of protection built in. Slip and oil-resistant Danner wedge outsoles give great grip on slick and flat terrain. Electrical hazard protection is ideal for employees who are often exposed to potentially hazardous electrical currents. They have good features that tackle the issues that a condition like plantar fasciitis often brings to the table in terms of comfort. Last but not least, these boots are very long-lasting.
I am a fan of Danner shoes and boots, I currently have 6 pairs. Their products are consistently of high quality and the Bull Run Moc Toe Boot is no exception. The boot feels great right out of the box, stiff but comfortable. After a couple of weeks breaking in they are a real pleasure to wear. The Bull Run Moc Toe is true to size in length and width, but the toe box is roomy enough to make them a great choice for people who buy a wider size shoe because of hammer toes or other similar problems.
