The Recon 1 doesn’t try to hide the fact that it is a weapon. You can try to pass it off as a utility knife, but the knurled G-10 handle in the Grid-Ex style shows that it’s really a tactical blade. The Tanto point can both stab and cut, so even though it’s only two inches long, all you need to do damage is connected. Thus, don’t open so many more letters without sharpening it, though, or it might be too dull when you need it.

"Best cheap knife I have ever owned. I was a bit of a knife snob. Wasn't expecting much of this. I cannot Cary a knife over 2" at work but need one daily. This little thing gets used and abused. I use it to strip electrical wiring, as a screwdriver, as a prybar, as a reamer for copper pipes, cutting fiberglass insulation. It takes an edge quickly using a small oilstone. What a surprise this thing was. The handle is still tight after almost a year of abuse!!"
