Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
In case you don't know...
Why do you need heel cups or insoles?
Under the foot and inside the shoe, insoles or heel cups provide support, protect your heels from blisters or rubbings, and guarantee a proper fit, particularly when wearing a large size shoe. If you have plantar fasciitis, a heel or bone spur, sprains, swollen feet, or other foot problems, you’ll need it to adjust the position of the foot bone.
How long should a heel cup or insole be on the feet?
Since it might take some time for you to adjust to having extra stuff in your shoes, you should try timing yourself. It can range from 30-60 minutes to 4-5 hours each day as the days pass. The activities you engage in, as well as the number of hours you spend on your feet, will have an impact.
What is heel cups or insole made of?
Medical-grade silicone gel, memory foam, carbon fiber, and other compression materials are used in most heel cups or insole. They may also have layered inserts to offer additional cushioning and support for the foot. The materials are light, flexible, and moldable, allowing them to fit into a variety of shoe styles and sizes.
How Often Should you replace it?
Depending on the durability, daily users of heel cups or insole should obtain a new pair every three months. The frequency with which you replace it is determined by the activities you engage in with it. Check for a reduction in cushioning if you start to experience pain in your feet (which is a sign of wear and tear). If you don’t wear it frequently, it can last up to six months before you need to replace it.
10 Reviews: Best Insoles for High Arches (Jun 2023)

1.Superfeet
GREEN Insoles
Deep and Wide Heel Cups
Starting with the Superfeet Green FullLength Insole, which is a great option for those with high arches who need support during exercise or when they’re on their foot for extended periods of time. The insoles’ deep and wide heel cups offer optimum support and stability, allowing you to better control your feet’ motion and posture. They also include a raised center section, which is particularly beneficial for those who have high arches.
I am a daily walker on pavement. I have probably 8 pairs of these inserts and put in all my enclosed shoes. These give the best support for my very high arches. They are washable and never seem to wear out. They are a bit pricey but being so long lasting makes them worth the price!

2.CURREX
World’s leading insoles for Running shoes
Three-Zone Design
The RunPro Insoles by Currex are designed with runners in mind. The insoles are made to replace the inserts in your favorite sneakers, allowing you to receive the support you need without crowding them. They also have a three-zone design that claims to make running more comfortable. The insole is intended to cushion your foot in the center, while the heel provides support and absorbs shock.
These are rather expensive but are the only insoles that work for me. They are flat (zero-drop) and work well in my altra running shoes, providing just enough extra cushion and support. They are easy to trim to fit. I just use the insole that comes with the shoe and trace around it. I'm very glad they come in different arch sizes as often insoles have too much arch for me. I got the medium arch in these (though according to their fit guide, I should wear the high) and they are perfect.

3.Powerstep®
Pinnacle Maxx Arch Support Insoles
Orthotic Insoles
Overpronators may have high arches as well. These orthotic insoles from Powerstep feature an angled heel shape and a high arch contour to address both if you require high arch support and an insole that prevents your feet from sliding inwards too much.
Of all of the insoles that I've purchased, these seem to offer the most support and feel the best. I liked them so much that I purchased two more sets for myself and two sets for my wife. Virtually no shoes (no matter how expensive) have arch supports. Any time that you get a new pair of shoes replace the crappy insoles with a quality pair. Don't wait for your feet to fall apart like I did.

I recently fractured 4 cuneiform bones in my midfoot. It’s been a long haul in healing, and now the only somewhat normal walking I can do is with maximum arch and midfoot support! Thank goodness I found this orthopedic support, it makes the most difference I’ve found.

They’re part of the Sof Sole “FIT” line, and they’re made of a high-rebound foam that’s suitable for more athletic usage, providing a good mix of comfort and support.
Hands down the best orthotics out there!!!!! I have flat feet & lots of pain & these work great!!!! I’ve tried so many other brands but these are the sturdiest!!! They give amazing support for my fallen arches & provide so much relief of back pain & shin splints!

6.Tread Labs
Stride Semi-Custom Insoles
Medical-Grade Support
Trend Lab’s insoles come in four different arch heights, including an X-High version for those with very high arches. You may also change the top cover with a unique 2-part system, which has medical-grade support similar to many custom orthotics.
I really needed proper arch support and these insoles did just that! I can now go for long walks without the bottom of my feet aching in pain. These insoles can make your shoes squeak but a little baby powder will do the trick. Would highly recommend for anyone with sore feet!

7.Spenco
Total Support Max Shoe Insoles
3D Modulation Technology
Spenco’s Total Support Max shoe inserts provide the primary benefit of offloading weight off the ball of the foot, thus balancing weight distribution. This can aid in the treatment of plantar fasciitis symptoms by steadily improving your body’s posture and walking habits. Rather than just providing instant relief, these insoles include 3D modulation technology, which encourages more natural strides.

8.Powerstep®
Pinnacle Breeze Insole
Vented Mesh Top Fabric
The Powerstep Pinnacle Breeze blends semi-rigid arch support with dual-layer shock absorption cushioning to provide energy for low- and high-impact activity. The modest cushion provides long-term relief from plantar fasciitis pain. Because they include a vented mesh top fabric that keeps feet dry and odor-free, they are the best insoles for working out. This feature simultaneously massages the foot for each step.
This is the first time I have purchased the Pinnacle Breeze model. I have bought many of the other power step models, and I have to say, this is my favorite one! The other models have all been great, but this one, breathes, and I just feel my feet are cooler and feel better. I have had them for almost two weeks now and they are fantastic. Thank you for allowing my in-put.

I have very high arches and most inserts that come with shoes don’t work well for me. These do the trick and fit nicely in all my sneakers and boots.

10.Protalus
M100 Max Series
Support and Cushioning Insole
Although support is crucial when you have high arches, cushioning should not be overlooked. Yes, support and cushioning are two distinct things! But, in this insole, you’ll get both of those qualities, and we’re glad to say that it’s gentle on the foot without sacrificing support. They’re designed to maintain your stride neutral and reduce stress on the ankle and knees by properly aligning the foot and preventing pronation or supination.
Up until he wore these my husband could not walk thru the grocery store without limping. His knees bothered him too much. Since he has been wearing these inserts, he has not limped. I plan to get him another pair in 4-6 months
