Derby’s lightweight turnout blankets worked well. However, the Windstorm line is one of the finest heavyweight blankets for horses. Their 1200D ripstop nylon weave is resistant to tears and cuts. The 300-gram polyfill is one of its best characteristics. The blanket is ideal for horses that live in places with fluctuating or severely cold weather. This blanket adds no more weight while yet keeping your horse warm.

Went through two weeks of rain and cold weather and had to keep the blanket on 24/7. When we removed it there was no issues with rubbing of the blanket causing sores. It was excellent.

Excellent warm blanket, and really tough. My horse rolls in it daily and while it's very muddy there's not a tear in it. The straps and snaps are sturdy and easy to use. I like the neck cover and the way it attaches. Definitely worth the price.

Affordable, cute and does the job! Not as nice as high quality coolers but I knew that when I ordered it. It is not as thick as higher end coolers but it does the job. Overall I'm happy with it. The smallest size is a bit long on my 14.3h mare but it doesn't bother her. Comes in cute colors and as an added bonus, it's soft and nice to wrap around you in cold weather!

If you don’t like the horse turnout sheets, you can replace them with Derby’s liners or coolers. These liners are very light and can easily cover your horse’s whole body. Two-color selections and a few size options might greatly assist you in selecting the correct liner. Liners are often used in conjunction with blankets. This contributes to the addition of a second layer of warmth. Since they are light, putting them beneath blankets adds no weight. It will assist your horse in staying out of the rain.

This fleece cooler is a gorgeous color, fits beautifully, keeps my sweaty horse warm, and wicks the moisture from his coat after a cold weather workout. A great value for the money.

I own a very picky mare! Having said that she loves this blanket I do too! It fits wonderful easy to put on and in the first snow storm not only kept her warm she actually enjoyed wearing it. Great product.
