Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Let's dive into these questions!
What to consider when buying a sleeping bag?
Never go without a plan. First, determine your budget to narrow down the abundant options. After that, decide whether you want a sleeping bag with synthetic or down feathers for the insulation type. Temperature rating is the next point to check so that your main needs of warmth are fulfilled. You can select the shape and weight afterward to ensure it fits you well without weighing you down.
Which one is better: down or synthetic sleeping bags?
It depends, of course! If you are looking for a sleeping bag that is compressible and can last up to decades, then the down type is best. However, to get this dream feature, you have to spend more. And that’s where synthetic wins. Even so, the synthetic sleeping bag is less compressible and break down sooner after continuous stuffing and re-stuffing.
How to wash my sleeping bag?
If only a few parts are stained, you can spot clean it by making a paste of a little non-detergent soap and then brush gently. If a complete wash is required, you should check and follow the manufacturer’s washing instructions.
What's the best way to store my sleeping bag?
The first thing you have to do is release air from the bag, starting from the foot out of the top. You can roll up the sleeping bag and tuck it into a slightly larger stuff sack to make it easier. Using a waterproof stuff sack is a smart choice when rain is a real possibility. Keep in mind that keeping your bag compressed for an extended period of time will reduce the bag’s loft. If you’re not planning on using it, it’s better to keep it outside of its compression stuff sack.

WINNER OUTFITTERS
Mummy Sleeping Bag
Low-budget, high quality
Let’s start with Winner Outfitters. This sleeping comes with a surprisingly inexpensive price tag which is under $40. Don’t think you’ll get a basic bag; even from the appearance alone, this product is superior to those that are more expensive. The material quality is supported by a 350T polyester shell and liner which is waterproof, skin-friendly, and soft. As for the temperature rating, you will stay warm between 35F and 40F.
Really impressed for the cost. I used this in tandem with a hammock and 40F rated underquilt. In clear/quiet weather and under shade at 28F outside, I was sweating while wearing my hoodie and long johns in the hammock with this set up and was blown away. The materials are lightweight and well constructed, can be machine washed and comes with a 5 year warranty. I will be coming back to these guys for more equipment for sure.

It worked perfectly! Very lightweight piece of gear. My summer pack stays around 25lbs, so this minor addition to weight is ideal for lightweight hammock campers.

Great product, good loft, very happy with this. I use this more as a sleeping bag paired with an underquilt now so i can get diagonal in my hammock. I've been out in 32 degrees ferinhight and was snug as a bug in a rug.

Outdoor Vitals
Aerie
5 in 1
The Outdoor Vitals Aerie Sleeping Bag is made for those wanderers who already have plenty of pack space taken up by the hammock itself. Weighing only 2 lbs 4.5 oz, Aerie guarantees your warmth to temperatures as low as 15°F. In addition, with just one product you can use it for five functions: underquilt, hammock pod system, technical blanket, sleeping bag, and double sleeping bag. What’s not to like?
I was very surprised when I got this. I had never used any kind of quilt with my hammock, now, I'll never go without one. It lofts up to maybe 5 inches thick and is so warm that my first time using it (as an underquilt) all I needed was a wool blanket on top to stay nice and warm. The temp got down to 35F that night. The next night I tried it as a Pod with the same toasty-warm results minus the blanket. I love it!

Love this bag! Packs down nicely and is crazy warm and fit perfectly into my hammock. After checking out my bag this weekend my boyfriend is now planning to buy their under quilt and maybe another sleeping bag that'll zip together with mine when we're tent camping.
