I wanted a calculator with a colour screen so it would be easier to see then the typical black and white screens. This is exactly what I needed! The screen is nice and bright, the layout is simple, and the battery seems to last forever. (I still haven't had to charge it after a few months use.)

Definitely the best calculator for college especially for students taking engineering courses! It's worth investing into something that costs a little bit more in order to have life go much easier doing calculations. I would definitely recommend getting a used version of this though if you aren't rich the difference between new and used is minimal on calculators.

This is the calculator used by tons of colleges and universities for math classes. Has all the functions for Algebra and Trig. Its a little pricey, but graphing functions cost more.

This graphing calculator has an amazing price, and students can use it from middle school through high school, as well as in some early college classes. The user-friendly Casio features an icon-based interface that includes all of the pre-algebra fundamentals, as well as necessary for subsequent courses like trigonometry and geometry, all the way up to AP calculus.

This was less expensive than other brands, but I've always found Casio products to be high quality. I bought this for my son in college. For engineering, he may need a different kind later, but this was a great one for a start.
He's very happy with it so far.

This Casio is capable of solving almost any trigonometry, algebra, or calculus problem you can throw at it. Moreover, it won’t be much of a graphing calculator if it couldn’t plot graphs, which is why it has graphing functionality.

Great for my son. He will be able to use it throughout high school and possibly college.

The HP Prime features an advanced graphing calculator design with a multi-touch, 16-bit display, and a more contemporary physical factor. It also comes with 256MB of flash memory, which is a lot more than you’ll find in a lot of other graphing calculators.

This product works great and is of high quality. I have used HP products for probably 50 years now and love them.
