Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
In case you don't know
Is a fish finder worth it?
A fish finder, on the other hand, is a great tool to have if you want to catch a lot of fish because it helps you to see fish and structures at the bottom of your boat so you can see the condition there. There's no need to be frustrated when waiting for fish when you have a fish finder on your side; in fact, some fish finders come with GPS features that are extremely useful while fishing.
Can I turn on my fish finder out of water?
We may say that using a FishFinder and transducer on a boat that is not in the water is not recommended because the transducer will not give you any readings. As a result, before you turn on the fish finder, make sure you're already on the boat and ready to go fishing.
How deep can fish finders work?
Basically, most fish finders have different deep level capabilities, but they will work as deep as you want them to work if you set the frequencies appropriately. The lower the frequencies, the deeper the waters, for example, 200-800 kHz for waters up to 200 meters deep and 80-50 kHz for waters less than 200 meters deep.
How to choose a right fish finder?
Consider the type of fishfinder you like, if it has GPS and is part of a boat-wide network, the size of the fishfinder's footprint, the display resolution, how much transmitting power you need, and the frequencies would function better in the freshwater, marine, or deep-water area where you fish.

The Dragonfly 7 Pro is a fish finder with true Broad Spectrum CHIRP Technology, allowing Dragonfly to interpret more depth to target more fish and picture structure with unrivaled clarity. Since it has CHIRP DownVision, it works to show the condition of your bottom boat in a very clear picture and view. Because of the built-in GPS, fishing will be a lot easier.
I have never owned another fish finder before, so I have no frame of reference. It works well and the UI is good. My dealer installed it on a new boat.

This is the Garmin Striker 7SV with a Transducer that has a clearer scanning solar to help you see more of what's in the water around your boat, like objects, structure, and fish in accurate representations. You can conveniently view, mark, and navigate to any place you need since it also includes a waypoint map. It is available in three screen sizes: 3.5-, 5-, and 7-inch. You can pick the one that best suits your needs.
My first fish finder is wonderful. It helped me catch more fish ,first use. The map making is great for the strip mine lakes in my area ,way points and contours.
|MEASUREMENTS||9.3 x 2.3 x 5.5 inches|
This is a portable fish finder from Venterior that you can take with you anywhere you go fishing. It has outstanding features such as a backlight mode that allows you to use it at night, a fish alarm that sends you warnings when it detects fish, and a battery save mode that extends the battery life. The monitor has five user-selectable sensitivity levels that can be used to disregard small fish by lowering the sensitivity.
Works great when I fish off my kayak and also worked great for ice fishing.

Ricank is here with this portable fish finder that can be used for a variety of fishing methods, including offshore fishing, kayak fishing, ice fishing, lake fishing, sea fishing, and river fishing. It comes with a 25-foot cable and a removable transducer float, as well as a depth range of 3 feet (1 meter) to 328 feet (100 meters) below the fishing sonar transducer. It has 5 sensitivity settings, a battery saves mode, a backlight mode, a fish alarm, and a unit of measure, all of which make fishing a lot easier.
Its a wonderful little gadget that does the job. I've had more expensive fish finders and for the money, you can't beat this. I mounted in on my 14 ft fishing boat. I use it primarily for seeing depth since fish in rocky lakes and need to avoid them with my boat and motor. I can't vouch for it showing me fish yet, maybe soon.
This is a fish finder that syncs with iOS/Android devices and can be controlled entirely with your smartphone. No need for internet because it is connected via WiFi (similar to a hotspot). Don't worry, it has a built-in GPS that allows you to make bathymetric maps from the shore and save them to the Lake book for retrieval and review later.
I never have luck fishing on lakes. Always go home skunked. Went out today and nobody was catching any fish off the dock. I casted out 3 times with the deeper and found some structure where all the fish were hanging out. Set my bobber stop to 7 feet down where deeper said they were and was catching striped bass every cast. Can't argue with success. Glad I invested in this.

Love this unit! Been using it a little over 2 months now and no issues. The install was fairly easy and the unit is ready to go right out of the box.

This is the Humminbird HELIX 5 fishfinder, which features a larger 5" color WVGA display. It helps you to see what's on the water clearly and then quickly captures the fish. It's also equipped with CHIRP Digital Sonar, which works to reveal information that other types of sonar can't. This system will guide you to the correct location using Precision Internal GPS Chart plotting with built-in Anima cartography.
Unlike most fish finders this one actually finds fish and the depths are very accurate. I am very happy with this.

This Garmin Striker 4 is such a great device to help you find the fish because it has so many powerful features. Furthermore, you can control the device to suit your needs using the convenient keypad.
I do like this finder. It worked very well on it's maiden launch on my kayak. I paired it with the 141 transducer mounting arm track mount. I used a Outdoor Products Watertight Box to mount the 12V 7AH Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) Battery for Piranha MAX 160 Fish Finder inside with watertight switch. It was very clear display with good contrast. I like it's size and not in the way while paddling or fishing. The you can raise it up when landing/launching.
