The key feature in my search was something that wont rust and the base is just that! I havent left the screen cover in the rain as I'm sure that would rust, but with some care, I'm sure this set will last us years. I also wanted something on the smaller side that would be easily portable to move out of the weather elements and this is perfect for that as well, especially with the 2 built in handles! Would definitely recommend if you just want something for ambiance and s'mores ?

I’m in love with my new fire pit. I did follow another reviewers suggestions. I spray painted the FirePit with high heat black spray paint to prevent it from rusting. Before I sprayed it it was outside and after it rained one time I saw rust. The spray paint works wonders. I also placed 6 fire bricks in the pit so the fire isn’t sitting in the bottom of the pit. Now it’s perfect!!!! Everyone loves the moon and the stars as well.

If you’d rather have a warm fire, swing it out of the way or disconnect it entirely. This fire pit grill is made to seem like a tank, but it’s really rather light. With a weight of just 27 pounds, carrying this unit around the yard or patio will be a breeze.

Assembled on the deck - will move it when the snow is gone - living in ND and it's still March. I have nothing bad to say about it even though I have 4 small screws left but all instructions were followed. I hope to have visitors and this will be a delight to have in the 80 acre front yard! There is a river 4/10 of a mile away and I'm considering putting one down there as it would be nice to go down, have a fire, cook stakes or warm up beans etc and hot dogs by the river.

We bought this for multiple reasons. First, we camp a lot and this is a much nicer way to have a safe campfire rather than trying to use the large steel containers most parks supply. And it's easy to tote around (comes with a carry bag). Plus we can cook on it while camping. Second, we love to sit around a fire outside in the evenings at home as well, and this fits the bill perfectly. I like the fact you can get your legs and feet close to it and keep warm. Doesn't take much wood to get a warm fire with little smoke. Takes some practice getting used to - but well worth it! Just remember to charge the battery ahead of time.

The sleek stainless steel structure is the first thing you’ll notice about this fire pit barbecue. The stainless steel has a chrome finish, so it’s not only attractive but also weather-resistant, rust-resistant, and corrosion-resistant. Scallops run the length of the fire bowl’s bottom. On the interior, there’s also a raised shelf for fuel (wood or charcoal). As a consequence, air travels through the bottom of the fuel tray and rises to the top. This eliminates smoke and allows for a cleaner, hotter, and more evenly distributed fire. The beauty is that the fire may be started without the need for fans or gas. It’s all simply clever engineering and science at work.

This is a fantastic fire pit. I’ve read that heat output is a problem... I sure can’t imagine how. Sitting within 5 feet of this pit has one toasty warm and even backing up. I’ve read that the body is weak and easily dents. I suppose if I banged it’s side against a trash can that it would dent... somIm not going to do that. It is easily dumped out, and as it’s design make it an efficient burner, the ashes left over are minimal. I’m would buy this again, but I don’t predict I will need to. The storage/carry bag is sturdy and stands up to weather. If cared for, this will last forever. I am very happy with my purchase.

This fire pit barbecue is great for any grilling occasion, but it really shines on the road. This device assembles in less than 30 seconds (without tools) and collapses into a small, 24″ long bundle that fits into the provided carrying box. This device is great for road warriors, weighing just 16 pounds. Despite its small size, this grill has a grate area of 441 square inches, which is comparable to many standard propane barbecues. This wood-burning fire pit’s appeal is that it can be used anywhere, even on wood decks. The fire bowl raises 24″ from the ground, with a fire-resistant heat barrier underneath it to keep heat and debris out.

We used this as our primary cooking surface as well as a camp fire for 2 1/2 days. While the stainless mesh did stretch I do not feel that it held up extremely well. We were constantly burning 1' diameter logs as well as lump charcoal and found it to be very efficient at burning and easy to maintain the fire. We did have storms that generated 1/2" of rain and the coals did not go out. Clean up was a breeze although we did carry out all of our ashes in a steel container and practiced no trace left behind practices. I found the video's that are online to provide more than enough information to put it together and use it without practice ahead of time.
