I bought this for my husband for a father day gift. This is his second black and decker sander. He loves this little thing so much already. As soon as it came today he tried it out. He fixed a couple doors that were sticking. Now he is out sanding our kids playset. It’s powerful and the sawdust collector does it’s job. Very little mess for me to have to clean up after he was done. He says it’s powerful. Light weight and works great. He is impressed and that’s hard to do. Definitely worth the price. Affordable and quality.

This orbital sander performs well, is lightweight (weighing just 2.9 pounds), and has a reduced height that enables you to work much closer to surfaces while conducting prep work. The tool has a good center of gravity, is strong enough (the 3.0Amp motor rotates the sanding disc pad at 12000 OPM), and includes a well-designed dust collecting bag that works well. The Hook and loop (velcro) mechanism makes using the gadget and changing out sanding discs a snap. This could be the greatest alternative for those who don’t perform car bodywork every day and don’t have access to a compressor that can sustain an air sander.

In the past I have run across many sanders that don't hold up to the level of work I put on them. I work part time in my shop and am in the studio every day. While not as powerful as my big sanders, this little guy works just as hard as some of my big tools and is the best sander. Would Highly recommend!

I had used a friend’s sander and liked it so I bought my own. Having it on hand and using it while building raised panel cabinet doors it has become an essential tool in my workshop. Using the hook and loop style is absolutely much better than the old stick-em style. The variable speed is great for different woods and applications.

The simple variable speed adjustment (4000 – 12000 OPM), the easy-to-grip design (the handles provide additional alternatives for holding the tool, decreasing fatigue), and everyone’s favorite hook and loop mechanism for replacing pads are all highlights. Furthermore, the huge two-finger on/off switch is easily located, and the switch locks into the “on” state, so you don’t have to press the button the whole time. Even in narrow spaces, movement is simple — just adjust/unscrew the handle when sanding tight edges.

Ive used festool sanders before and admittedly they're better but theyre 4 times the cost. The festool is NOT 4 times better than this makita, its not even twice as good. Its just a little better, a little smaller and light and a little smoother. Thats it. Don't waste your money on a snader the price of a table saw, thia makota works great
