This is a film that spends a lot of money on the erroneous notion that kids and their parents want to watch a dingy, creepy, strange film about a grumpy monster that lives on top of a mountain of junk, terrifies kids, is cruel to his dog, and takes everyone’s Christmas gifts. Yet, there is a girl that believes the strange creature is a good guy. This Christmas film is appropriate for toddlers since it teaches them about tolerance, love, and happiness.

It’s simple to find a plethora of ludicrously bad movies and reboots centered on toys or nostalgia. While The Lego Movie didn’t seem to be much when it was first released, you’d be mistaken. It’s a riotous, hilarious trip that combines satire, comedy, toys, and more to create an entertaining film that both kids and adults will love. Emmett, a construction worker, is discovered to be “the special,” the only person capable of saving the whole Lego world. This is a considerably more entertaining hero’s journey than most.

I took a nine year old boy with me to the theater when the movie first came out and we both loved it. After I bought this DVD I watched it with my niece and nephew, ages 19 and 20, and they loved it, too. The writing is clever enough that only adults will understand some of the jokes and pop references, yet it is still entertaining to children.

Moana is a fantastic narrative about forgiveness and adventure, an incredible plot, and songs that will get lodged in the brains of both parents and children. The narrative of Moana centers on her and the demigod Maui, who is responsible for the theft of the heart. It follows Moana as she accepts her real purpose, overcomes her fears and concerns, and eventually finds a means to rescue her people. There’s a lot to like here, between the music, the Polynesian depiction on film, and the narrative itself.

My four kids (boys and girls ages 3-11) love this movie. The songs are catchy, and it was nice to see a disney movie that highlighted strength of character, importance of family, and didn't have a romantic interest.

Frozen was a smashing success when it originally came out, owing to the breakthrough single Let It Go, and now it’s back in the headlines with a sequel on the way. The plot revolves around Elsa and Anna’s relationship, and although there is a romance for Anna, it isn’t central to the plot. This is the movie to show your kid if you want a hilarious and uplifting narrative.

This is my dog’s favorite movie! (And I really love my dog, so she gets to watch it a lot!) every time I put it on she sits and watches and starts panting and smiling when Elsa sings! My point-that Frozen is a great choice for EVERYONE in the family! Mom, dad, kids, and even pets!

The Secret Garden is a slow-burning tale of an orphan who is thrust into the center of an affluent but miserable family. She opens the door to repentance for herself and her newfound family when she uncovers a hidden garden. This film was a fixture of daytime television in the 1990s, and it’s likely to bring back memories of lazy afternoons at Grandma’s place. This film is particularly suitable for toddlers due to its sluggish pace and ensemble of little characters. For young children, it does include themes of grief, loss, and disability that may need explanation or context.

Excellent movie! My 12 year old told me to leave this review. Left him in years of happiness with it's message of hope, healing and the importance of a positive mental attitude! He has battled depression himself and this movie very much spoke to his soul.

This renowned animated picture, set in rural Japan, gives viewers a look into traditional Japanese everyday life as well as Japanese storytelling, which emphasizes ambiance over action. When two young girls move into an ancient farmhouse in the country, they rapidly become friends with the people who live there. This features Totoro, a mystical forest spirit that looks like a cat. Many sequences use body language or dramatic facial expressions to communicate, so even if a child doesn’t comprehend every word, they will be able to follow the plot. Some youngsters may find discussions about hospitalization and chronic disease treatment in this film.

This is one of the most little kid friendly Ghibli movies I've seen. Howl's Moving Castle had loads of weird (but was still very good). Much less weirdness in Totoro (but still very novel & imaginative). Very sweet tone. A bit slow, but in a seductively relaxing way. Hang in there, and you may find you love the calmer pace & setting.

When it comes to kid’s movies, The Little Bear Movie is about as basic and charming as they get. Little Bear encounters a “wild” bear cub living in the forest while on a joyful and peaceful camping vacation with his father. The plot traces the development of their friendship. The various moments of energetic free play and plain speech will appeal to toddlers. You’ll feel like you’re witnessing a children’s book come to life with Bob Ross-esque scenes of woods, lakes, and fluffy clouds atop rolling hills.

Arrived in better condition then described and arrived a head of time. My granddaughter loves to watch it over and over.

Hayao Miyazaki’s Ponyo is a wonderful retelling of The Little Mermaid’s narrative. Ponyo was written and filmed with the youngest audiences in mind, based on Miyazaki’s experiences with his toddler grandson. The picture fluidly transitions from realistic images of regular life to wild exhibitions of magic and mayhem, as if it were in a toddler’s imagination. While there are several strong sequences involving rage and harsh weather, the protagonists’ cool responses make these occurrences appear less frightening.

I have always loved ponyo and got it to watch with my 5 and 7 year old sons. They are total man boys. They LOVED it. I was a little worried it wouldnt keep them entertained but they wanted to watch it everyday for a week and still watch it about once a week and always come up with new questions about.the movie or ocean or ponyo herself. Every man, woman, and child should see ponyo at least once. Its a masterpeice.

Enjoying Disney movies is a wonderful way to create enthusiasm before a vacation, and Winnie the Pooh is without down one of the finest Disney movies for toddlers. Toddlers can absorb famous Winnie the Pooh tales with the assistance of a calm voice and fixed surroundings. The psychedelic dream phase at 37 minutes is more amusing than frightening, although it may easily be avoided by more sensitive youngsters.

When my kids were young and not feeling well I would set up the family room 'death bed' and play all the old Disney movies they watched when small. This continued right up until high school. I bought this along with several other Disney classics for my daughter to have at her home and continue the tradition with her children.

This cinematic adaption of the novel Room on the Broom is lighthearted and whimsical while being firmly rooted in the Halloween spirit. While flying about on her broom, a pleasant witch meets new animal pals and faces with some unexpected difficulties. The story’s repetitious structure is ideal for toddlers who like viewing the same things over and over again.

Sweet story that we love, Witch and Cat pick up new friends along their journey and end up in a pickle when her broom breaks. However through team work, her animal friends help save her and they fix up a spell just perfect for the 5 friends to travel together. Great to watch with littles at Halloween or anytime really. Teaches friendship and kindness.
