Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What makes a cymbal good?
As a general rule, the thicker the cymbal, the higher the pitch will be on the scale. Especially if you play a lot of rock music, a thicker cymbal may be more suited to endure the thunderous crashes of the song than a thinner cymbal (although the latter has more flexibility).
Are cymbals hard to play?
Crash cymbals need more technique than meets the eye, but once the fundamentals are established, it is a simple instrument to play. There is very little fast playing, and the sections are not difficult to perform. When visuals are added to the marching band, the crash cymbals become more difficult to play.
Are cymbals important?
Cymbals such as crash, ride, splash, china, and hi-hat are all crucial tools for drummers. They come in a variety of weights and sizes and provide a wide range of musical possibilities. They are crucial in the creation of drum beats, the accentuation of sections, and the establishing of the musical atmosphere.
Are cymbals easy?
Crash cymbals seem to be simple to knock together, but they are far from it. This air pressure makes it difficult for the musician to play nice and loud. When we want to produce some noise, we must first smash the fronts of the two cymbals together and then push them together to generate the sound.

The Meinl Classics Custom Dark cymbal box says it all. This is one of the nicest features you can get for the money. All four cymbals are top notch. The hi-hats and ride have a clean and melodious tone. However, the crashes are really responsive, which is helpful for fast play. These cymbals have a diverse sound and tone. The ride cymbal’s bell may cut through any mix. Consider this box if you want a superb punk cymbal arrangement. They also have a beautiful polish that makes them look good on stage.
These cymbals sound good for the money , I have been playing drums for 57 Years i started when i was 10 years old I have 5 different sets of cymbals that cost me $$$$ i like these for the look but they good for rock & roll kind of like my K Zildjian set but cheaper !

The leading cymbal brand is Zildjian. This is one of their finest. Each of the A Custom pack’s 14″ hi-hats has its own 16″ and 18″ crash. Their finish is bright and gorgeous, matching their tone. A fast release with a brief sustain. This is critical for a quick crash jab. The cymbals all compliment one other well, making it simple to get the punk sound. It has a wonderful complement and a bell of the journey.
Amazing set! I love these cymbals great sound and look. I have been playing for over 10 years but have a hard time describing the sound cymbals just know in my opinion these are the best cymbals money can buy.

The Zildjian K Kustom Hybrid Crash cymbal was designed in collaboration with famous drum stylist Akira Jimbo. The inner half has the unlatched, bright K Custom Ride finish, while the outside half has the lathed K Zildjian finish. For recording and live use, the unlatched area helps control splash and sustain.
Another great cymbal pack from a respected producer. No need to introduce Sabian to drummers. They produce a large brilliant sound that will satisfy you. Their radiance cuts through any blend. Smooth crashes with dynamic swells The favorite cymbal is here. It has a nice crash for powerful punk choruses. The crash is nice and responsive, giving you a full tone no matter how hard you hit it.
Fantastic cymbals. Very bright and they have plenty of projection. They were at a great price too. I would highly recommend sabian aax cymbals if you're looking for a professional grade set of cymbals with a modern sound.

You may depend on this Sabian cymbal if you’re looking for a specific, yet versatile, punk cymbal. Because 16.5-inches is not a very common size, it is quite unusual. It’s a slender instrument with warm tones and outlandish projections. A pingy dry tone on the bell gives them a distinct personality. Get your best live perform with Sabian Crash Cymbal.
Love the range of expression of these cymbals. I am not an expert but I was looking for crashes with no "gong" undertone, just an awesome CRASH sound. Love this 16" and the 19" as well. When playing softly you can really get a great variety of sounds...

Roland never fails to impress when it comes to developing high-end solutions for electronic drum componentry. This V-Cymbal Ride is one of their most popular e-cymbals, and it’s no surprise why. It is around 15 inches in length and is built with a chock-able edge for convenience. From the silver-colored finish to the location sensing function, everything about it is pleasing to the sight, and you can tell straight away that it is a stunning piece of equipment.
Great feel, look, and price. Heavy ride feeling allowing nice quick intricate stick work.I supposed you could crash it but I use it as a ping ride...

Yamaha is another major player in the electronic drum set industry. The PCY-100 is a stunning sound system from the firm, with a 10-inch cymbal and a three-zone configuration. In terms of reaction, the PCY-100 is among the most precise cymbal pads available. They assist you in distinguishing its dynamic ranges anytime you play. Yamaha created this product with high-end appeal and a distinct finishing touch that reduces the blurring effect.
Unfortunately I had ordered the wrong cymbal! I wanted the Yamaha HiHat, so I had to return the product. But after the inspection of it, the quality looked like my other cymbals, so I am sure it would've worked great!

It’s near as if you’re playing a real cymbal when you play the Pintech PC18. It has amazing feel, sensitivity, and tracks. Sweetwater drummers enjoy the Aquarian cymbal spring’s inherent spring-back movement as well as its quiet performance. The PC18’s structure is absolutely bulletproof! It’s made of the same material as bulletproof glass and riot shields. And, because of its eye-catching transparent smoke hue, this cymbal trigger looks fantastic.
The playing surface action is much better than the original surface. The dual zone is about a 1" strip across the edge. I have the center set up as a ride, and I'm using the edge for a China cymbal...
