Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Are cymbals hard to play?
Crash cymbals need more technique than meets the eye, but once the fundamentals are established, it is a simple instrument to play. There is very little fast playing, and the sections are not difficult to perform. When visuals are added to the marching band, the crash cymbals become more difficult to play.
Are cymbals easy?
Crash cymbals seem to be simple to knock together, but they are far from it. This air pressure makes it difficult for the musician to play nice and loud. When we want to produce some noise, we must first smash the fronts of the two cymbals together and then push them together to generate the sound.
What makes a cymbal good?
As a general rule, the thicker the cymbal, the higher the pitch will be on the scale. Especially if you play a lot of rock music, a thicker cymbal may be more suited to endure the thunderous crashes of the song than a thinner cymbal (although the latter has more flexibility).
Are cymbals important?
Cymbals such as crash, ride, splash, china, and hi-hat are all crucial tools for drummers. They come in a variety of weights and sizes and provide a wide range of musical possibilities. They are crucial in the creation of drum beats, the accentuation of sections, and the establishing of the musical atmosphere.
10 Reviews: Best Cymbals for Grunge (Feb 2023)
This is a fantastic cymbal for grunge, with the perfect size and material selection. You may enjoy your grunge music with confidence knowing that the sound is of high quality. The price is also suitable with quality. Do not need to confused anymore! Make your greatest performance possible with this fantastic cymbal.
These hats sound pretty darn good, obviously not amazing but still very good for this price range. They are a good standard for a hi-hat sound....

The cymbal is a fantastic experience, and the sound quality is exceptional when compared to the price, which is incredibly reasonable. Despite the fact that the sound image is “sweet” and in the high-frequency band, the cymbal does not take over and maintains a decent sound level.
The cymbal is a joy to play, the sound is outstanding in comparison to the price, extremely affordable. The sound image is "sweet" and in the higher frequency range, but thanks to the light weight...
The product is equal to the premium brand. This cymbal offers a high-quality sound that will assist you in creating your grunge masterpiece. As numerous reviewers have said, this cymbal has the ability to generate outstanding sound quality. This cymbal, which is also composed of bronze material, is more ideal for playing than the previous one. Let’s grab yours!
It is a quite good cymbal and the most important: it is not made from brass but of some kind of bronze and that"s change a lot the sound. The price is wonderful . Do not expect mach like other expensive brands, but for me it is sound amazing in the mix.Tnaks Thomann !
The leading cymbal brand is Zildjian. This is one of their finest. Each of the A Custom pack’s 14″ hi-hats has its own 16″ and 18″ crash. Their finish is bright and gorgeous, matching their tone. A fast release with a brief sustain This is critical for a quick crash jab. The cymbals all compliment one other well, making it simple to get the punk sound. It has a wonderful complement and a bell of the journey.
Amazing set! I love these cymbals great sound and look. I have been playing for over 10 years but have a hard time describing the sound cymbals just know in my opinion these are the best cymbals money can buy.

The Meinl Classics Custom Dark cymbal box says it all. This is one of the nicest features you can get for the money. All four cymbals are top notch. The hi-hats and ride have a clean and melodious tone. However, the crashes are really responsive, which is helpful for fast play. These cymbals have a diverse sound and tone. The ride cymbal’s bell may cut through any mix. Consider this box if you want a superb punk cymbal arrangement. They also have a beautiful polish that makes them look good on stage.
These cymbals sound good for the money , I have been playing drums for 57 Years i started when i was 10 years old I have 5 different sets of cymbals that cost me $$$$ i like these for the look but they good for rock & roll kind of like my K Zildjian set but cheaper !

Another great cymbal pack from a respected producer. No need to introduce Sabian to drummers. They produce a large brilliant sound that will satisfy you. Their radiance cuts through any blend. Smooth crashes with dynamic swells My favorite cymbal is here. It has a nice crash for powerful punk choruses. The crash is nice and responsive, giving you a full tone no matter how hard you hit it.
Fantastic cymbals. Very bright and they have plenty of projection. They were at a great price too. I would highly recommend sabian aax cymbals if you're looking for a professional grade set of cymbals with a modern sound.

Paiste’s 2002 cymbals are the most popular. They’ve been around for a long time, assisting rock, punk, and metal drummers. They are designed for heavier music genres and have an extremely clean crisp. They last a long time. The crashes are really loud and there is a lot of wash. Unlike the other cymbals on this list, it is more expensive. But they are priceless.
Amazing high end cymbal set! And made it by Christmas!!! Very happy drummer in my house!Yay!

You may depend on this Sabian cymbal if you’re looking for a specific, yet versatile, punk cymbal. Because 16.5-inches is not a very common size, it is quite unusual. It’s a slender instrument with warm tones and outlandish projections. A pingy dry tone on the bell gives them a distinct personality. On the downside, it is not easily accessible. There isn’t much information available on the internet regarding it.
Love the range of expression of these cymbals. I am not an expert but I was looking for crashes with no "gong" undertone, just an awesome CRASH sound. Love this 16" and the 19" as well. When playing softly you can really get a great variety of sounds...

The Zildjian K Kustom Hybrid Crash cymbal was designed in collaboration with famous drum stylist Akira Jimbo. The inner half has the unlatched, bright K Custom Ride finish, while the outside half has the lathed K Zildjian finish. For recording and live use, the unlatched area helps control splash and sustain.
Sabian cymbals have been one of the most recognizable brands in the drumming world since its inception. Today, they are preferred by artists because of their loud and identifiable sounds. There’s something quirky about this model, as well as a simmering combination of classic tone and clear detail.
