Works as advertised, holds ice long enough. kept things cool over a five day camping trip. by the fourth day, the ice had melted but everything was still cold. Probably would have held ice longer had I used more ice, since I filled it up with drinks and didn't have much room for ice. Sturdy handles work great and the drain plug seems very durable.

Insulation is top notch, the ice lasted for at least five days and the seal of the lid is so perfect, that a vacuum is created when the air in the cooler contracts. This type of cooler is a little heavier than the drugstore variety, but you really do get what you pay for in quality.

First day I loaded the bottom of the cooler with room temp water and sodas. I filled the cooler with a 20lb. bag of ice. The next morning I emptied the water and added a 5lb. bag of ice. The ice lasted 6 days, cooler in the shade. On the 9th day everything in the cooler was still cold even though there was no ice in it!! I would recommend this cooler to anyone!!! Way to go “Kong coolers!”

Amazing cooler. Took with me on my first camping/shooting trip. Tuesday I tossed a bag of ice, 20lbs in the cooler, nothing else. Opened on Friday morning to find the ice was still 2/3 frozen with some water. Tossed in my food items and another bag of ice, 20lbs. Headed into the hills Friday night. When I was home Sunday evening, I had well over a 20lb bag of ice with some still in the original bag. All food and drinks were cold. This thing works great!

I did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on the cabelas polar cap and this thing is AWESOME! ... I filled it with 30 pounds of ice a 2 30 packs 10 days ago and put it in the bed of my pickup and as of this morning it still has large ice chunks in it and the remaining 12 beers are still ice cold. The equalizer button works as designed, on a drive up north, up to 7000 feet the lid was difficult to open, press the equalizer and it opens right up. Highly highly recommended! Plenty of room inside and the orange color is a real attention grabber! Worth the money and can not beat cabelas for customer service!
