Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Have you known these?
What are Circular Polarizing Filters?
A circular polarizing filter (CPL) is one of many types of filters that works to enhance the final photo on your camera. Its main function is to select which light can enter the lens. It removes the glare in objects, reduces reflections, and allows you to capture vividness and contrast in a photo.
What should be considered when using a CPL Filter?
Note that this filter reduces light so for maximum results, use the following formula: slow down the shutter speed, open up the aperture, and Increase the ISO. You can adjust each amount according to your needs. Avoid using a wide-angle lens because it sometimes produces uneven sky color or color variation.
What factors should be considered when purchasing a polarizing filter?
The first point to consider is the quality of the material, both the glass and the thread. Coated filters are generally better than filters without coatings while a good thread is one that is not bendable. After that, make sure the size matches your lens since one circular polarizing filter does not fit all.
When should I use a CPL filter?
Use the CPL filter when you want to darken the sky, remove reflections or haze, and increase saturation. You can also attach your filter if you want to provide extra protection for your lens since some filters are equipped with UV protection.
10 Reviews: Best Circular Polarizing Filters for Digital Camera (Dec 2023)

10.Nikon
Circular Polarizer II Filter (77mm)
High-quality
Let’s start with a filter from Nikon. As we know, Nikon is not a new player in the world of photography so the quality is guaranteed. Circular Polarizer II Filter uses high-quality glass combined with a rotating front ring which will smooth your photography experience to a whole new level.
It's true what the reviews say about this filter: high quality glass, smooth rotation, thin profile, and great performance. Have only tried the filter two or three times, but the results are quite good. Pops the blues in the sky and cuts the glare on the water. A bit pricey as others have noted, but with this quality, you'll not have to buy another CP.

Great filter, makes the color "pop". Shot this image with my Sony A7 ii -straight from the camera, no edits...didn't bother changing a lot of my settings since I just wanted to see the color of the sky in the image with the filter ON.

This CP filter is great. It really cuts down glare and haze during daytime photo shots. The details of the skys are deep and in great detail. I recommend this to anyone who is a photographer and shots landscapes or on bright sunny days. Also the packing is very secure. The plastic case does have padding on inside to protect the filter from damage. Great product and transaction. Hoya makes high quality filters!

5.B+W
Circular Polarizer Kaesemann
Enhance the contrast and saturation
The B+W Circular Polarizer always ranks at the top of reviews as the best polarizer. You don’t need to be a professional photographer to get the most out of it; even amateurs can operate it as easy as pie. This device increases the contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds in a second.
Put this on a Canon 750D and used it for a two month trip through the sandy desert southwest of Utah, Arizona, and California. Held up wonderfully, and greatly enhanced pictures of the red rocks and blue skies. Also took the brunt of the abuse from the sand - did not scratch at all, despite me losing my lens cap for two weeks.

1.Lee Filters
LEE100 Polarizer
Best overall
Lastly, LEE100 Polarizer will close this list with its large-diameter which covers numerous different lens diameters. The clip works like a wonder, it’s easy to use and has space for additional square filters to slide in behind. The polarizer reduces reflections of the subject and emphasizes color contrast; make the picture more vivid. Even though it’s a little pricey, we guarantee you will get what you pay for.
The new CP compliments the new 100 system. Firstly connecting and disconnecting the CP is much easier and faster than the previous. The simple clip on & off design is far more user friendly than the previous screw on system. I also found that when using the old polariser I would get vignetting below 19/20mm. With the new CP I have not found any vignetting at 16mm. A great improvement from Lee.
