Dominion was the first game to bring deck-building concepts to the globe, and it has continued to produce fantastic expansions that improve the game. It features intense competition and allows players to follow practically any strategy they can imagine. There are various changeable configurations that only enhance the game when new expansions are introduced, making it even better.

This game is awesome! I will say, I learned it at a friend’s home and then ordered. It might be hard to understand without an experienced friend. I could say that about several of my favorite games though like Settlers of Catan. If you love Settlers, you will love this game. It also has many ways of setting up the game to keep each game new and you never have to play the same set up exactly twice...and then there is an expansion pack for more players (up to 8) and scenarios. The game is meant for 4 players, but we are a family of 5 and it works for us.

It’s uncommon to come across a wonderful game for only two players, but 7-Wonders Duel is one of them.

WOW! This is a great game! I have never played 7 Wonders and simply bought this game based on the reviews. There is a reason it is rated so high! It is awesome. The variability and mechanics of this game are great. The instructions are fair. I read them several times and there were a handful of times I had to consult Boardgame Geek for clarity. No big deal. The components are also very good. The only problem I have is my wife keeps beating me:) I highly recommend this game. If you are new to 7 Wonders, like I was, watch some tutorial videos on Youtube. I found them very helpful. This is my new favorite game!

Everdell might have been another fluffy Kickstarter game with great visuals and lousy mechanics, but it far outshines the competition in terms of concept, aesthetics, and gameplay. Everdell is a simple worker placement game with a richly drawn environment brought to life by amazing artwork. Players will work together to create a city of creatures and structures using a tableau-building concept. The gameplay is simple to pick up and has great depth to it.

There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this game! I love it! It’s fun to play and the art is super cute! This was a great game to play if you haven’t played it yet you need to ! The only thing I was disappointed about was that it’s only 4 players ? that’s ok! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would! One of my top 5 games and I’ve played ALOT of board games!

Star Realms is a basic card game created for two players to wreak havoc on one other. The mechanics are sound, and the card art and playability are fantastic. In just a half-hour, players may create some fantastic synergies between the four sides and have a thoroughly gratifying game experience. The whole game comes in a deck box that fits in your jacket pocket, making it incredibly portable.

This is a easy to learn, easy to play card game with a lot of repeatable game play value. It was the first deck builder game I tried after the miserable slog of Dominion and I found it a lot more enjoyable. The spaceships are beautiful, the mechanics are easy to learn, it isn't a money sink like Magic: The Gathering or other collectible card games, and there are quite a lot of strategies you can use to win. The Colony Wars and Frontiers Expansions are great add-ons as well. The only nitpick I would have is that the Life point (Authority) counters sometimes make math more difficult.

Players in Legendary Encounters battle the board’s ever-present threat deck. Legendary comes with a slew of cards that allow you to experience the first three Alien films. Legendary adds a cooperative aspect to the deck-building process, giving it a new spin. The game also has great visuals, since each core set has over 500 playable cards with 100% unique artwork.

All I can say is brutal. On my 3rd play, and I haven't won yet. My husband hates getting killed by aliens, and all I want to do is beat them finally. I enjoy the mechanics. Wish there were more different character cards. It seems like we take too long getting the cards we need to beat the really tough aliens. But, this game is a good time.

Sentinels is a pre-made card game that pits Superheroes against Supervillains. The fact that all of the cards are based on imaginary comic books created exclusively for Sentinels of the Multiverse is fascinating. You’ll see characters with famous abilities, but they’ll all be absolutely different. All of the cards are brilliantly illustrated with comic-style artwork, and each villain and hero has its unique set of powers and weaknesses that have me reaching for the box on a regular basis. They have created a lovely smartphone app that allows you to play around with the core set for free.

If you ever wanted to play as a group of super heroes like the Justice League then this is the game for you. You and your friends get to select from a group of super heroes and then you select your villain along with and environment to fight them in. It’s a great co-op game. It definitely stays on our cycle of games to play. You can also buy expansions to liven things up. I definitely recommend this game. It’s in my top ten list.

The Grizzled’s artwork is the most intriguing aspect. It’s a touch cartoony in appearance, but it’s dismal nevertheless, and it fits in wonderfully with the game’s concept. The Grizzled is a hidden-object game about surviving WWI trench warfare. Players must work together to live, and you will win or lose together, like in most cooperative games. The goal is to play all of the cards in each player’s hand while going through the draw deck. That’s no simple feat since too many catastrophes mean everyone loses, and the various hands are concealed from one other, making collaboration much more difficult.

I first played this at a friend's house for game night, and was floored by this game -- so much so that I had to have it for my own game collection. We played with the maximum number of players, five, which seems to be the sweet spot, and got down to the very last card before being defeated. This really is a difficult game to play, but whether you win or lose, you'll find that the experience was well worth it. I will be introducing more friends to this game at our company lunch this week.

This card-based time-traveling adventure sends players back in time to inhabit hosts in order to solve mysteries using a unique card-based mechanism. It’s one of the most original gaming systems I’ve ever come across. Players will be transported back in time as time agents to different periods in history to look for evidence and solve the crime. Each expansion introduces a new scenario and environment, all of which are distinct from one another while adhering to the same fundamental mechanics and rules.

Great story-based game. Preferably a 4-player game that you play with the same set of players. Fun, immersive, and surprising story that gets players wanting more. A must have game for any tabletop/board game collection. If you don't like the aspect of "Groundhog Day" or reliving a situation until you find the right path to take, I suggest you pass on this game. Otherwise, get it as soon as you can and call (3) friends to join you!

In Jaipur, it’s all about the art of the bargain. Two competitor traders compete to see who can be the most profitable trader. When it comes to risk vs. return, Jaipur is pretty well matched. Players may go either way and how they respond to shifting resources determines whether or not they win. The game’s mechanisms only allow for the sale of one resource type at a time but also compensates players for turning in bigger groups of resources. Waiting for the right time to score the big win may be exhausting, but it all comes tumbling down if your opponents decide to cash in early.

We've played this game about 10 times now, and have found it to be a quick, fun two player game. The game was very easy to learn and is one that doesn't require an immense amount of long-term strategy in each game, so you can chat while playing. You are supposed to play best of three rounds with the game, but we just play however many times that we feel like at that session. Small physical size for travel as well.
