Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Just in case you wonder...
Can bug zappers be harmful to your pet's health?
You can use a bug zapper near your pets without fear of harming them. In fact, these items are designed to be totally safe in the presence of children and pets. Nowadays, most customers choose these gadgets over sprays and pesticides. Bug zappers do not usually elicit a reaction from dogs, birds, or cats.
Who are bug zappers for?
Bug zappers can be used by anybody to shield themselves against insects. But mainly hikers and outdoor enthusiasts; families and people who want to spend more time outside; people from bug-infested areas; people who live near bodies of water; people concerned about getting illnesses from bugs; and anybody who does not want to employ chemical-based insect-killing treatments.
How do bug zappers work?
Most freestanding or hanging bug zappers use a bright light to lure insects and then electrocute them with an electrical mechanism once they land. Electric fly swatters, on the other hand, use a racquet with an electrified mesh to kill any bugs in their path.
Should I leave a bug zapper on all night?
The longer it is kept on, the more bugs a bug zapper traps. It’s better to switch off outdoor bug zappers at night; there’s no need to keep killing pests after you’ve entered the house. It is, nevertheless, beneficial to keep an indoor insect zapper on overnight to kill as many bugs as possible inside a room.
How to clean bug zappers?
There are bug zappers that clean themselves when bugs fall into the collecting tray at the bottom of the unit. Some bug zappers come with a brush to clean the coils after each usage. Others have specific containers that are simple to clean of bugs.

Black Flag
ZR-7936-L
Extremely simple
With a single zap, this zapper kills mosquitoes, biting flies, spiders, yellow jackets, and wasps. It’s safe to use both inside and outdoors, and it’s strong despite looking like a little tennis racket. It also does not need a huge number of batteries to function. You just need to prepare two AA batteries before regaining control of your garage and living areas.
Works like a champ once you get a technique established. I have an above-ground cemetery of flies in my garage floor that I keep hoping will be a harbinger of impending death to other flies, and they'll finally just leave me alone completely. Until then, I'm having a lot of fun with this.

Stands up to the wind and weather nicely. I recommend cleaning it with a high-powered blower - or a hair dryer at the very least. That seems to do the trick and cleans the unit MUCH better than the brush that's supplied.
