I don't use this tool specifically to remove the blackhead. I use the sharp pointy edged hook to lightly puncture the blackhead to give it an area to come out. Then I lightly squeeze with tissue or cotton pad and the blackhead comes out very easy. No pain whatsoever. Very pleased with the product.

I love this tool! I feel like the bad reviews are based on folks not reading the instructions. You must keep your face wet in order for this to glide and purge your pores without pulling on dry skin.
