Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Have you known these?
Do I need a baby monitor?
Do not have to. If you sleep in the same room with your little one then you can keep an eye on him. It’s different if your baby has his own room. Instead of needing to stay close to the nursery or constantly checking on your child, it’s easier to check on your monitor or smartphone while cooking or binge-watching American Horror Story.
Where should I place my baby monitor?
Like other electronic items, baby monitors also produce radiation emissions. To protect your baby from this exposure, we recommend that the baby monitor be placed no closer than six feet from the baby. You can use the help of high shelf or wall mount.
How to choose a baby monitor?
First, determine what features you need the most, whether audio, video or more. After that, for the safety of the baby, choose a device with a low frequency. Next, you need to consider microphone sensitivity to make sure the baby’s voice is heard. There is also a two-way talk feature that functions to calm your baby or make him feel alone. The rest is up to you.
What type of baby monitor is best for me?
It really depends on your needs. Generally, there are three types of baby monitors. The audio monitor lets you listen to the baby’s voices. This tool is helpful in knowing if the baby is crying. Video monitors are great for you if you want to see your little one’s movements and make sure his position is not dangerous. Finally, there are wearable monitors that track vitals like sleep and breathing.

VTech
DM111
Wins the heart of many
One of the advantages of an audio-only baby monitor is that you are not tempted to watch your little one all day through videos. VTech DM111 is one of the popular choices that has received a dozen positive reviews from its users. What makes it superior is its crystal clear transmission which is sensitive enough to hear soft sounds but also does not produce annoying noise. Plus, the price is extremely affordable.
I ordered these to listen out for my baby girl. They work so wonderfully. I lay her down for her nap and I can even hear the ceiling fan going. The audio is great and clear. Also, I ordered a set for my mother-in-law for when my baby is with her and she loves them. Thanks for a great, AFFORDABLE, product! This helps me to know what is going on in the room when my baby is napping without going to check and chancing disturbing her rest.

HelloBaby
HB178
Portable parent unit
Well, on the one hand, a baby monitor is helpful, but it can be a distracting tool with noises that keep you out of focus. HelloBaby HB178 is here to solve your problem. It is equipped with a sound indicator on the parent unit to display the level of sound in your baby’s room so you don’t miss anything when it’s muted. You can take your unit with you wherever you go with the help of batteries.
I bought this monitor because I didn’t want one with a camera (I knew that I would just sit there and stare at my baby lol). It’s perfect I have the baby side set up in her room and it picks up everything which makes me feel secure. The parent side is plugged into the wall of my bedroom but I like that I can take it off the plug and bring it around the house with me if I need to. Love it!

VTech
DM221
Long battery life
VTech DM221 is shaped like a giant padlock whose top can be lit for a night light. Unlike the two previous products, this one features two-wat talk technology that allows you and your little one to communicate from any room. In addition, the battery lasts quite a long time, up to 18 hours on a single charge.
Since my son decided to throw his baby monitor in the toilet, I had to repurchase these again. I am so glad I did because they've definitely made a BIG change since I bought these 3 years ago. The battery lasts SO MUCH LONGER NOW! Before, I could only get 4-5 hours on a single charge, but now these last more than 8 hours! Very easy to use and to set up. I like these monitors a lot because they are so sensitive to sound, you can hear everything!

Motorola
MBP164CONNECT
It sends you alerts
If you need a baby monitor audio that does more than transmit sound, the Motorola MBP164CONNECT will do it for you. You can link it with the Hubble app on your smartphone to track your baby’s sleeping pattern. The baby intercom monitor sends you alerts whenever it detects a sound in your child’s room.
We didn’t want anything fancy to monitor our 3rd child on, but still wanted something reliable so we would know when he was awake and could go in and check in on him. I love this thing, it sends me an alert when sound is detected so I know when he’s awake and can get up and get him in the mornings! Love this audio monitor. And it’s all through the app which makes it so easy.

HelloBaby
HB180
Adjust the temperature
Ah, this one is even more advanced. You can check the nursery temperature to make sure it is not too hot or too cold. Does your child often wake up in the middle of the night? Play lullabies and night light to soothe her without having to get out of your bed. The HelloBaby HB180 will deliver your little one to dreamland in no time.
We use this when our little grandson comes to stay over and it works well. Our bedroom is quite a distance from the room that he sleeps in, and with this I feel confident that I'll hear him when he wakes up. I also like that I can see the temperature in his room in case I need to make adjustments.

Philips AVENT
DECT Baby Monitor
Excellent audio quality
Same with HelloBaby, Philips Avent can adjust the temperature, turn on comfort nightlight, and rotate cradlesong from your grasp. Other than that, the audio quality is second to none. It uses DECT technology which ensures crystal clear sound without interference with a range up to 900 feet.
The best audio monitor. Much better than anything at anywhere near the price. We have tried several other cheaper audio monitors, and none even come close to the audio quality (especially the noise gate) and range and quality.

TimeFlys
Digital Audio Baby Monitor
Remarkably cute!
Look at how adorable this monitor is! TimeFlys audio intercom comes in a variety of adorable penguin shapes that are perfect for nurseries. The short-legged bird has a face that lights up so it can calm your little one in the dark. Furthermore, it also boasts an impressive range of extra features, including room temperature monitoring, lullabies, two-way audio, and an impressive 1000-foot range.
Cute little audio monitor set. It comes in a nice compact carrying case so u can easily take it with you wherever you go. My son loves the night light feature and I love the fact I don’t have to have it constantly on (u can set it to vibrate so when it detects noise, it vibrates loudly). There’s also a LOT of musical choices to play. So ur baby doesn’t get bored with always listening to the same.

Philips AVENT
SCD720/86
Not annoying
This is another great baby monitor by Philips which still consistently uses DECT technology to keep your connection private. Featuring Smart ECO mode, you can minimize the audio transmission and increases your battery time. What made parents happy the most was the coveted sound activation for a silent monitor when a baby is sleeping. Hence, your sleep will not be disturbed by annoying noises.
Many monitors are either too sensitive or not sensitive enough or can't be adjusted very well. This one works very well and has never failed us. Even the baby lullaby feature is very usable and not annoying to the baby. We haven't really been able to test battery life, since it's only off the charger for an hour at a time, but everything else about it works well. For an audio monitor, it's all we asked for at a relatively reasonable price.

Hatch
Rest+ Baby Sound Machine
Best of the best
This is arguably the most versatile audio baby monitor that also functions as a sound machine with a variety of music to white noise. You can set programs to train your kid’s sleeping habit with three transitions: naps, bedtime, and morning. The LED clock on the front can also be an initial introduction to numbers and time. Features such as a nightlight and two-way communication are also available in this aesthetic pleasing machine. What’s not to like?
My favorite feature about this product is that I can control everything through my phone. If I'm in a different room in the house, but I want the nursery to play birds chirping for the baby, I can do that through my phone. The audio baby monitor works very well and the speaker quality through the hatch is terrific. I also love that it's travel friendly so we use this baby monitor whenever we're on the go. Lastly, the night light is perfect when I'm changing the baby's diaper at 3am or doing middle of the night feeding.
