If you want to try stem plants for the first time, bacopa is a good place to start. The stem of this southern native is straight and vertical, with tiny, roundish leaves. Although it does not need CO2 input, it does benefit from liquid fertilizers like Easy Green. While it can grow in low light, the leaf tips turn coppery-red in the presence of high light and iron dosing.

Plant arrived quickly and healthy. I love it - especially that it can float or be planted. It is thriving and my beta loves to lay on it like a hammock.

The Amazon Frogbit, a floating plant from Aquarigram, is known for its nearly-perfectly spherical leaves. It can produce beautiful white blooms in addition to the brilliant green foliage, making the top of your tank rather appealing. This species requires a large tank because it can swiftly expand and take over a smaller aquarium. They prefer warmer water, although they can survive in the cold; it simply slows down their growth.

All plants thriving in my tank, some lost leaves and blossomed as aquarium plants do but great plants.

The Aponogeton Ulvaceus, which is native to Madagascar, is a fast-growing plant that can rapidly take over your whole tank. That makes it a fantastic option if you just want to purchase one species and be done with it, but it may suffocate the rest of your tank’s plant life in the process. This plant thrives in both hard and soft water, and it thrives even more when more CO2 is added. Each bulb can produce up to 40 leaves, each of which is rather huge, so if you allow it to develop to its full potential, it will be able to completely dominate your aquarium.

Wow this ant grows fast. I put it in my tank about 2 days after I got the bulb and with an 2 days I had leaves already coming in. I had a full plant in like a week and a half. Very easy to grow and is the biggest plant in my tank. If I had a bigger tank I would buy more. Recommended for beginners and if you want a fast growing plant.

It’s a fast-growing aquarium plant that replicates the appearance of natural grass in an aquarium. It grows in strong light and does not need CO2 since its native habitat is shallow and brackish, with little CO2. Trimming is essential on a regular basis to maintain your desired size and distribution across your aquarium. The vivid green is quite eye-catching and attractive, particularly when planted alongside other bottom-living aquatic plants, and they produce really lovely grassy carpets around the bottom of your tank.

The algae that make up the iconic Marimo ball grow in chilly climates like Iceland, making them ideal for unheated and cold water tanks. Colder water is actually preferred by them! Marimo balls are low-maintenance and may be maintained alone in a vase or bowl, but they also thrive in standard aquariums.

I love my Marino Moss ball! And so does my Betta named Kitty. Moss ball replaced a fake plant that was hurting poor Kitty’s fins…and he loves resting on it!!

Baby Tears is the plant to buy if you want to do an aquascape style that demands a carpeting plant and wants something that is simple to maintain. It grows quickly and is a simple plant to maintain once established. It requires medium light, which requires the use of a good Planted Aquarium LED since the light must penetrate all the way to the bottom of the tank. Its small leaves will contrast well with other plants in your aquarium and give you that grassy carpet aspect that makes aquascapes so appealing.

Amazon Swords are excellent community aquarium plants with quite interesting shaped green leaves. These plants feature sword-shaped leaves that point upward, as the name suggests. When maintained under proper circumstances, they are reasonably simple to care for. They have the ability to grow to 20 inches and look great with a variety of aquatic plants. When it comes to mistakes in maintenance and care, they are hardy and forgiving plants.
